[Português] [Italiano] Especifist organisation founded in WalesThe Libertarian Communist Group was formally launched at a meeting in North Wales on Saturday, November 8, 2014, the anniversary of the birth of Nestor Makhno, the famous Ukrainian anarchist. As stated on the About page of our website (see below), we believe no single pro-revolutionary entity can operate on all the terrains of struggle needed to build counter-hegemony to capitalism. It is therefore our intention to work alongside like-minded groups and individuals in order to further the class struggle in Wales and beyond. The aim of the LCG is to focus on the key aspects of effective working class organisation which ultimately lead towards a libertarian communist society. These include workers' self-management of the economy, grass-roots control of our communities, and a genuine commitment to internationalism. For such a society to arise out of the future ashes of today's crisis-ridden system a fresh approach to theory and practice is required. As a part of the burgeoning nexus of freedom, all our efforts will be concerned with building proletarian counter-power. About LCGLibertarian Communist Group (Welsh: Grŵp Gomiwnyddol Libertaraidd) is an especifist organisation in Wales/Cymru.The LCG/GGL is concerned with building working class counter-power. We identify as libertarian communists with the "platformist" or especifista tradition of anarchism. We broadly identify with the theoretical base of this tradition and the organisational practice it argues for - but not necessarily everything else it has said or done - so it is a starting point for our politics and not an end point. The core concept of this tradition is the need for a libertarian communist praxis that seeks to develop: Theoretical Unity, Tactical Unity, Collective Responsibility and Federalism. We believe no single pro-revolutionary entity can operate on all the terrains of struggle needed to build counter-hegemony to capitalism. As a minority political group we therefore support a proliferation of tendencies which can act as an ecology for furthering class struggle beyond either the catch-all ethos and sectarianism of the mass party model or the unreliable and vague network model. Internationally we are in accord with the Anarkismo.net project. Founded in 2005, Anarkismo is an international news and discussion website that brings together anarchist-communist organisations from across five continents. |
