Today was found the burned body of Özgecan who was raped and murdered in Mersin, Tarsus.
Today Özgecan, who was murdered by the driver of the minibus she took, became the revolt all round the region.
Murdered at the age of 20, by man power, Özgecan whose dress was discussed rather than her murder, became the rage in the streets in many cities.
Today, Özgecan was became our revolt which we carried out to the streets. Today, the patriarchy who murdered her, also stood against us; tried to stop us with their men who have been justifying harassment-rape-violence; tried to silence our rage, frustrate us by driving their cars over.
After Özgecan's murder, we are continuing to say "Women Murders Are Political", and shout "Murdered women Are Our Revolt", and account for each and every women who are murdered.

Today, state's police have attacked to the women who were protesting the men violence to Özgecan. They have taken women comrades into custody because of opening a pancard from a building in Taksim that is written "Ozgecan Aslan is our revolt."

The man state have been protecting murdering men with its man justice; As the patriarchical minds find the woman "guilty" in every area of life, make her invisible; we will never leave the streets. We will be on the steets, making each murdered woman our revolt, account for murders, and struggle until no more women are murdered.

Last year again the lives of women have been stolen by men. Violence
of man at home, oppression of the boss at work, abuse and rape on the
streets, on every single space the women’s body have been scattered…

In the wake of the pandemic, the outbreak of domestic violence has led the government to set up and increase victim support lines operating inside police stations. What this practically means is just another hotline in the policy directory. But women’s emancipation in the Greek context cannot come via a posteriori calls to the police. It requires systemic responses that will empower women, the same being true for any vulnerable individual, so that their decision to quit the sphere of violence will not involve the risk of poverty and social exclusion.

imageOur Freedom Is In Our Struggle Mar 08 by Meydan 0 comments

"First, by asserting herself as a personality, and not as a sex commodity. Second, by refusing the right to anyone over her body; by refusing to bear children, unless she wants them; by refusing to be a servant to God, the State, society, the husband, the family, etc., by making her life simpler, but deeper and richer. That is, by trying to learn the meaning and substance of life in all its complexities, by freeing herself from the fear of public opinion and public condemnation. Only that, and not the ballot, will set woman free." [Türkçe]

“The day of women’s act and struggle against the violence all around the world, 25th November is upcoming... This year, we will be on the streets again, while feeling inside the anger surrounded by hope, a motto uprising on our tongues, with our determination for what we want. For our lives, for our freedom.”

imageAthens, Greece: Rape at squatted theatre “Empros” Apr 26 0 comments

At "Empros” is not the first time that such an incident occurs, and according to people who have witnessed them, those responsible for the safety of the squat always "accidentally" covered them. Also, one of the first defense measures of the apologists is to confront every complaint as a lie. That is where the "freedom" of these places arrives.

imageCall for messages from organised women to be published in Anarchist Newspaper Meydan Feb 21 Anarchist Women 0 comments

Dear Comrades,

The next issue of our monthly anarchist newspaper Meydan is going to be prepared by Anarchist Women only, as for all March issues. In this issue, we are going to focus on the systematic violence against women, on this violence becoming a state policy and we are going to talk about being a woman in war conditions that we are currently in.

The massacres in the North of Kurdistan has been steadily increasing especially since August, and these war conditions bring about many cases in which the women are used as tool for the war. As seen in many wars throughout history, women are forced to migrate from the lands that are looted by war in our geography. Women are faced with rapes, tortures, they are massacred and their slayed bodies exposed on the streets, "completely naked".
