Once again the radical left petite bourgeoisie has failed. Once again the failure and the bankrupt political line of the radical left petite bourgeoisie is manifest. [The petite bourgeoisie is the so-called “middle” classes, who are part of neither of the two fundamentally contending classes in the capitalist mode of production, capitalists and workers]. |

Broken world, broken people – we need a path to a better future Feb 01 3 comments We are living in a world that for most people is broken and that has broken most people. It is not a god given world, but one that has been constructed by those in power and that has left most people mired in deprivation. Under COVID-19, this world has sunk to new lows. All is not lost though. There has historically been a section within the progressive movement – in different parts of the world and in South Africa – based around forms of radically democratic socialism that has not only tapped into the righteous anger of the working class, but has also sought to create a home and sense of belonging for people based on progressive values and principles such as mutual aid, solidarity and even love. If we want a better world, we need to revive the popularity of the types of politics, ethics, values, principles and practices that formed the essence – at their best – of such movements and update it for the context of the 21st century. A Fundamental Thesis of Revolution and the State Nov 14 2 comments A fundamental thesis which all varieties of revolutionary socialists and anarchists once generally accepted: this state cannot be used to create socialism (communism or anarchism). Spring zu Komment: 1 2Can anyone explain why Anarkismo are publishing this stuff? Surely something that both opposes the Black Lives Matter movement and actively celebrates Lenin's war against anarchists should not be published on this site without at the very least a heavy disclaimer explaining that the Anarkismo collective don't endorse the perspective of the piece? I'm happy to see anarchist sites hosting useful non-anarchist material, but this just reads like dogmatic M-L garbage to me.
I posted this article on Anarkismo because:
• I think the experience in Greece was important to share with other progressives, as I did in the case of Egypt during the Arab Spring, and as I participated in extensive debate around Haiti in Anarkismo.
• I also do not consider Anarchists as my enemy; if I did then I would question my own participation here. I consider the difference between Anarchists and myself as secondary contradictions within our camp, since we all do share a sincere intent that we want this capitalist system defeated.
• I read a lot of argument on Greece in Anakismo, and we do share a lot of unity in other arguments.
• The endorsement should be about the political fundamental content, not about some critiques made in good spirit about Anarchists. Anyway the text was mainly criticizing the opportunism of petit bourgeois radicals, many of which claim to be Marxist.
Constructive critiques in good spirit are essential for the health of our movement. What is detrimental to our movement is abject sectarianism, which is by the way a manifestation of bureaucratism, that is preventing any possibility of unity or even common practice. None of us by ourselves will be able to defeat our common enemy. Only the unity of the popular masses can defeat that enemy. This unity is to be constructed with discipline and uncompromising struggle for the consolidation of our camp. At the same time, we need to disrobe ourselves of ideas that are so old, so surpassed by the objective reality, that they have become dogma and are incapable of guiding our struggles.
Currently, populism is a big disease destroying our movement. Your position on Black Lives Matter is populism. It is as if no classes exist among Black people /African-Americans, making them above classes, and worse, making the assumption that every expression of Black people is progressive. This position brings us back ten steps behind the respective contributions of progressives such as MLK and Malcom X, who both started to recognize that it was not a question of Black vs. white but rather a question of people against capitalism. Your position brings us to positions that were articulated shortly after their executions for the benefit of the capitalist class.
Black nationalism is the inversion of white nationalism, both leading to ultra-nationalism, a tendency of fascism. Information is being circulated that some leading members of BLM are tied to ultra-reactionary elements of the Republican Party. As brother Malcolm demonstrated upon his return from pilgrimage, Black-on-Black exploitation exists. Exploitation is an antagonistic relation; therefore to think all Black lives matter is to deny that antagonism, which is condensed and determined by class struggle. We need to advance with history, not tailgate it or bring it back. That is conservatism, ultra-conservatism.
My last point: Your suggestion to deny me the right to express my opinion is even far behind what bourgeois democratic rights are, under the dictatorship/democracy of the capitalist class. And how is it that different from the actions of Stalin, who silenced any opposition? This approach is objectively making you a closeted bureaucrat, an ultra-closeted bureaucrat, since it is even more backward than the dictatorship/democracy of the most reactionary class who has ever dominated in our era.
