Palestine-Israel, The Tsumud/persistence of 13 years of joint struggle will continue as long as it takes*

Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Shikh Jarrah and the South of Hebron Hills

It is not because the Jews rule US... It is because Israel play an essential part in the Imperial struggle between US and Russia. Though the oil is less important to US economy it is still important to its partners. The western empire elite came to Peres ceremony because Israel helped to return Egypt to US sphere of influence. Protected Jordan from being taken by pro Russian Syria, Pushed Syria out of Lebanon for a while... and supply important services all over the world. Thus, the struggle against Israel apartheid is going to be much harder than the abolishing of it in Southern Africa. However, we have here the joint non armed struggle, the tens of thousands international activists who come here to participate and return home with the torch of struggle. The Israeli Jews who participate every week in the joint struggle refute the "anti-Semitism" false claims.

Bil'in 26-8-16 Friday demo, another Link in the twelfth year chain. 9 Israelis, and 10 internationals joined the Bil'iners in one of the quietest demonstrations. This time like in most demos of the last year the Israeli forces waited for us near Bassem (Fil) memorial - blocking our way to the freed lands and the new separation wall. We marched from the village waving flags and chanting till we arrived there. As usually they declared the area as a forbidden closed military zone... but let us march up to were they were standing in a line without demanding us to retreat, threatening with arrests or forcing us to retreat. after a long while we started to retreat to the village.

2-9-16 This Friday was another sample of the Israeli state forces new policy. While we were converging at the west margin of the village, the state force which were with their Jeeps at their usual location near the route of the old separation fence just drove away, like two weeks ago, in a kind of invitation of us to march up to the gate in the new separation wall. This time, 8 Israelis, and about 10 internationals joined the Bil'iner in a march.... but to ours choice of location - the wall near the Abu Lamun park, southern to the gate.
As usual we chanted and held flags all the way to the wall. The frustrated Israeli forces who waited for us at the gate lost patience and came to us for the usual harassment: declaring a closed military zone, demanded us to return to the village and threatening with arrests. As we were tired from the long march in the hot whether, we did not defy them for long and returned to the village.

Bil'in - 9-9-16, The day we were afraid of have come today. from the beginning 11 years and a half ago we contemplated what we would do if the Israeli state forces will fail to come to confront us and to disperse the demo.
Today, we marched from the village to the new separation wall - 5 Israelis, 8 internationals and about 20 Bil'iners. The Israeli state forces refrain from coming to the route of the dismantled separation fence, they refrained from harassing us when we reached the wall near the Abu Lamun Oaks orchard. Nothing happened when we marched along the wall up to the gate in it... and nothing happened when we knocked on the metal gate in the wall. Nothing happened even when two kids threw stones to the other side of the wall - no one was there.

16-9-16 6 Israelis with the anarchists against the wall initiative with dozens of internationals joined the local activists in the 601st Friday demo at the second half of the twelfth year of struggle in Bil'in against the separation fence, settlers, and occupation. Like in the previous week the Israeli forces were not seen around... After Marching and chanting all the way to the wall' and along it to the closed gate, a kind of happening started there: youngsters climbed the wall and put the Palestinian flag on it. Few soldiers appeared for a short time but disappeared after stones were thrown on them. After prolonged banging on the wall, we returned to the villages - tired but most satisfied.

22-9-16 Bil'in, Another calm Friday demo. 5 Israelis with the AAtW, 6 internationals, and 20 Bil'iners participated in the weekly demo against the separation wall, the settlers, and the occupation. While we were converging to the demo the Israeli soldiers Expelled the settlers youth from the area behind the wall to prevent any confrontation... and then hide behind the wall. Part of us marched from the village and other drove to the Abu Lamun oak orchard were we marched together to the near by wall and walked along it up to the gate in the wall. There we had a kind of party - knocking on the gate and more. As the challenged soldiers failed to appear, we remained there for only half an hour before returning to the village. The state forces revenge will come as usual in nights rides on homes of activists at the following nights.

30-9-16, 9 Israelis with the AAtW initiative, 10 internationals and youth from neighbourhood village joined two dozen village activists in the Friday demo against the settlers and the occupation. After converging in the Abu Lamun oak orchard near the separation wall we marched chanting to the gate in the wall. There comrades started to knock on the gate in the wall as in the previous demos. This time, after a long while, the state forces opened the gate and started to harass the demonstrators - detaining, threatening with arrests, checking IDs... and cars - both near the gate and along the way to the village.
"At today's protest in Bil'in, Israeli occupation forces attacked the some 50 demonstrators, arresting two shabab from the nearby village of Kharbata and Bil'in villager; Abd Fatah."
After a while and lot of threats to participants for arrests in the future, the detainees and the car were released while the ID of the Israeli "stayed arrested".

Don't say we did not know 515

In February, 2016, the IDF destroyed most of the homes in the Palestinian village of Al Maksar (near the Hamra checkpoint) in the Jordan valley. At that time the army sealed all but one of the entrances to the villages.

On Thursday, August 18th, 2016, the army sealed the remaining entrance to the village. A number of herds remained outside of the village, as was a water tank that serves them.

Are more demolitions planned?

---- ---- ----

On Thursday, August 18th, 2016, government representatives accompanied by police demolished homes of Bedouin in the Negev: In Um Mashash on Route 25, the floor of a home; in Al Sadir, near Ar'ara, a structure; in Um Batin, east of Omer, a structure. They once again demolished the village of al-Alarib.

In Az-Zarnug, on Route 25, coerced by government representatives and police, people demolished their own home.

Don't say we did not know #516

In the early 1950s, the Bedouins of Umm El Kheir were expelled from the Arad region (in Israel) to the West Bank. After their expulsion they bought land in the south Hebron hill region, and established their village. In 1981 Israel founded the settlement Carmel next to their village. For some years now they have been suffering from repeated demolitions of their houses.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, Israeli soldiers arrived at their village yet again and demolished three houses. 26 people were made homeless.

This is the 3rd demolition in 2016 alone.

------------------------------------------------------
·
Don't say we did not know #517

Before the devastation of home demolition, demolition orders are first issued.
On Saturday, 27th August, 2016, Jerusalem municipal workers, escorted by police and soldiers, went to the Palestinian neighbourhood of Silwan (annexed to Jerusalem) and handed out demolition orders for four homes and a fence. At the village’s protest tent, they ordered renovation work being carried out on the floor to stop.
It would appear that the handing out of demolition orders takes precedence over Sabbath, and is permitted.
~~~~~~
On Monday, 29th August, 2016, government representatives, escorted by police, demolished dams -- that accumulate valley water in order to allow watermelons to be grown in the Spring - in the Bedouin village Rakhme, near Yeruham in the Negev.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't say we did not know #518
On Saturday evening, 10th September, 2016, a settler ran over a 5-year-old Palestinian girl, killing her, when he drove on the northern exit of the settlement Efrat, which is actually an internal road belonging to the Palestinian town Al Khadr, now in use by settlers, Efrat having expanded right up to the homes of Al Khadr.
Palestinians claim that previously that settler has threatened to kill them.
----------------------------------------------------------
Don’t Say We Didn’t Know 519
For years the Palestinians of Burin village, south of Nablus, have been suffering harassment at the hands of settlers from Yitzhar and Beracha, backed by the Israeli army. On Monday, September 5, 2016, settlers entered the edge of Burin (Area B) with a tractor from the direction of Beracha settlement, escorted by soldiers, and began to plough a 4-dunam plot of land. Villagers arriving on the spot chased them away.
On Thursday, September 15, 2016, a fire broke out in a Burin grazing area. Soldiers and settlers prevented a local fire fighter truck from approaching and quenching the fire. Children of the village confronted them. The soldiers chased the children into the village and detained two of them. The settlers set fire to olive and almond trees in a plot belonging to the village. The soldiers put out the fire.
---- ---- ----
On Monday, September 19, 2016, government agents escorted by police demolished Bedouin houses in the Negev - three houses in Za’arura, west of Fur’a. They also demolished Al Araqib yet again. Eight Bedouin demolished their own houses, under threat that the State would do so if they wouldn’t, and charge them the expenses.
Palestina-Israele, laTsumud/persistenza di 13 anni di lotta unitaria andrà avanti finchè sarà necessario* (it)
Non è che gli Ebrei comandino sugli Stati Uniti... quanto che Israele gioca un ruolo essenzale nella
lotta imperialista tra USA e Russia. Sebbene il petrolio sia meno importante per l'economia USA
lo è ancora per i suoi partners. La classe dirigente imperialista occidentale è venuta ai funerali di Peres
perchè Israele si è data da fare a far ritornare l'Egitto nella sfera d'influenza degli USA. Perchè ha protetto la Giordania
dalla Siria filo-russa, ha buttato fuori la Siria dal Libano per un po'... e fornito
importanti servigi in tutto il mondo. Dunque, la lotta contro l'apartheid israeliana
è molto più dura di quella che si fece per abolirla in Sud Africa. Ad ogni modo, qui abbiamo
la lotta unitaria non armata, decine di migliaia di attivisti internazionali che vengono
qui per partecipare e tornano a casa con la fiaccola della lotta. Gli Ebrei Israeliani che
ogni settimana partecipano alla lotta unitaria rifiutano le false accuse di "anti-Semitisme".
Bil'in 26-8-16 manifestazione del venerdì, un altro anello nella catena lunga 12 anni. 9 Israeliani e 10
internazionali si sono uniti a residenti in una della manifestazioni più tranquille. Questa volta come
nella maggior parte delle manifestazioni dell'ultimo anno, le forze israeliane ci hanno aspettato vicino al monumento di Bassem (Fil)
- bloccandoci la strada verso le terre liberate e verso il nuovo muro della separazione. Siamo partiti dal
villaggio sventolando le bandiere e cantando fino a che siamo arrivati lì. Come al solito hanno dichiarato l'area
zona militare chiusa e proibita... ma ci hanno fatto avanzare fin dove se ne stavano in
linea senza dirci di ritirarci, senza minacciarci di arresto e nemmeno costringendoci a ritirarci.
Dopo un bel pezzo abbiamo iniziato a far ritorno al villaggio.
2-9-16 Questo venerdì un altro esempio della nuova politica delle forze di stato israeliane. Mentre
stavamo convergendo sul margine occidentale del villaggio, le forze di stato che erano lì con le loro
Jeeps come al solito vicino alla strada del vecchio muro della separazione, se ne sono andate via,
come due settimane fa, in una sorta di invito per noi a proseguire verso il cancello del nuovo
muro della separazione. Questa volta, c'erano 8 Israeliani e circa 10 internazionali con i residenti
in corteo.... ma verso il posto che noi avevamo scelto - cioè il muro vicino al parco di Abu Lamun, a sud del
cancello.
Come al solito abbiamo cantato e sventolato le bandiere per tutto il percorso verso il muro. La frustrazione ha colto le forze israeliane
che ci aspettavano al cancello: hanno perso la pazienza e sono venute verso di noi con la solita aggressività:
dichiarando l'area zona militare chiusa, ordinandoci di ritornare al villaggio e minacciando di fare
arresti. Dato che eravamo stanchi dopo il lungo percorso e per il caldo, non li abbiamo sfidati
troppo a lungo e siamo ritornati al villaggio.
Bil'in - 9-9-16, oggi è il giorno che temevamo arrivasse. Fin dall'inizio 11 anni
e mezzo fa ci siamo chiesti cosa avremmo fatto il giorno in cui le forze di stato avessero cessato di
scontrarsi con noi e di mettere in fuga le manifestazioni.
Oggi, abbiamo manifestato dal villaggio verso il nuovo muro della separazione - 5 Israeliani, 8
internazionali e circa 20 residenti. Le forze di stato israeliane si sono astenute dal presidiare
la strada dello smantellato muro della separazione, si sono astenute dal darci fastidio anche quando abbiamo raggiunto
il muro vicino al parco di Abu Lamun Oaks. Non è accaduto nulla mentre manifestavamo lungo il muro
fino al cancello.. e non è accaduto nulla neanche quando abbiamo bussato sul cancello metallico
nel muro. E niente è successo pure quando 2 ragazzi hanno lanciato pietre al di là del muro - dall'altra
parte non c'era nessuno.
16-9-16 Sei Israeliani con gli Anarchici Contro il Muro insieme a decine di
internazionali si sono uniti con gli attivisti locali per la 601esima manifestazione del venerdì nella seconda metà del
dodicesimo anno di lotta a Bil'in contro il muro della separazione, contro i coloni e contro
l'occupazione. Come nella settimana precedente, le forze israeliane non si sono viste... Dopo
aver manifestato e cantato per tutto il percorso fino al muro e lungo di esso e fino al cancello chiuso, qualcosa
è successo: dei giovani hanno scalato il muro per metterci una bandiera palestinese sulla sommità.
Alcuni soldati si sono fatti vedere per un attimo ma poi se ne sono andati dopo una sassaiola su di loro.
Dopo aver a lungo picchiato contro il muro, siamo ritornati al villaggio - stanchi ma per lo più soddisfatti.
22-9-16 Bil'in, un'altra manifestazione tranquilla del venerdì. 5 Israeliani con gli Anarchici Contro il Muro, 6 internazionali, e
20 residenti hanno partecipato alla manifestazione settimanale contro il muro della separazione, contro i coloni,
e contro l'occupazione. Mentre stavamo convergendo per la manifestazione, i soldati israeliani hanno sgomberato
dei giovani coloni dall'area al di là del muro per evitare qualsiasi scontro... e poi si sono nascosti
dietro il muro. Una parte di noi è partita dal villaggio, altri sono andati direttamente al parco di Abu Lamun
dove abbiamo manifestato insieme vicino al muro e lungo di esso fino al cancello.
Lì abbiamo fatto una sorta di festa - bussando sul cancello e altro. Dato che i soldati se pur sfidati
non si facevano vedere, siamo rimasti lì solo mezz'ora prima di far ritorno al
villaggio. La ritorsione delle forze di stato è giunta come al solito con raid notturni nelle case degli attivisti
nelle notti successive.
30-9-16, Nove Israeliani con Anarchici Contro il Muro, 10 internazionali e giovani dei
villaggi vicini si sono uniti a due dozzine di attivisti locali per la manifestazione del venerdì contro
i coloni e contro l'occupazione. Dopo il concentramento al parco di Abu Lamun vicino al
muro della separazione, ci siamo diretti cantando verso il cancello del muro. Lì i compagni hanno iniziato a
bussare sul cancello come si era fatto nelle precedenti manifestazioni. Questa volta, dopo un bel pezzo, le
forze di stato hanno aperto il cancello ed hanno iniziato a maltrattare i manifestanti con fermi,
minacciando di fare arresti, controllando i documenti... e le auto - sia vicino al cancello che lungo la via
per il villaggio.
"Alla protesta di oggi a Bil'in, le forze di occupazione israeliane hanno aggredito i circa 50
manifestanti, arrestando due giovani del vicino villaggio di Kharbata e di Bil'in
Abd Fatah."
Dopo un po' e tante minacce di arresti futuri rivolte ai manifestanti, i fermati
e le auto sono state rilasciate mentre sui documenti elettronici di Israele risultava "in stato di arresto".
Non dite che non lo sapevamo n°515
Nel febbraio 2016, l'esercito aveva distrutto la maggior parte delle case del villaggio palestinese di
Al Maksar (vicino al checkpoint di Hamra) nella Valle del Giordano. A quel tempo l'esercito mise i sigilli
a tutti tranne uno degli ingressi al villaggio.
Giovedì 18 agosto 2016, l'esercito ha chiuso l'ingresso rimasto.
Un certo numero di greggi sono rimaste fuori del villaggio, dove c'era una cisterna d'acqua per loro.
Ci sono altre demolizioni in vista?
---- ---- ----
Giovedì 18 agosto 2016, agenti del governo accompagnati dalla polizia
hanno demolito le case dei Beduini nel Negev: a Um Mashash sulla strada 25, il pavimento di una casa;
ad Al Sadir, vicino Ar'ara, una struttura; a Um Batin, a est di Omer, una struttura. Hanno poi
demolito di nuovo il villaggio di al-Alarib.
Ad Az-Zarnug, sulla Strada 25, costretti dagli agenti governativi e dalla polizia, la gente
ha demolito la propria casa.
Agli inizi degli anni '50, i Beduini di Umm El Kheir furono espulsi dalla regione di Arad (in
Israele) in direzione della Cisgiordania. Dopo la loro espulsione comprarono della terra a sud delle colline di Hebron
dove stabilirono il loro villaggio. Nel 1981 Israele ha fondato l'insediamento di Carmel vicino
al loro villaggio. Per alcuni anni fino ad ora hanno subito ripetute demolizioni delle
loro case.
Mercoledì 24 agosto 2016, soldati israeliani sono arrivati al loro villaggio ancora una volta e
hanno demolito tre case. 26 persone sono rimaste senza casa.
Questa è già la terza demolizione nel 2016.
Prima della devastazione portata dalla demolizione delle case, vengono emesse ordinanze di demolizione.
Sabato 27 agosto 2016, lavoratori comunali di Gerusalemme, scortati dalla polizia e
da soldati, sono andati nel quartiere palestinese di Silwan (annesso a Gerusalemme) dove
hanno affisso ordinanze di demolizione per 4 case e per un recinto. Alla tenda di protesta del villaggio,
hanno ordinato di fermare i lavori di ristrutturazione del pavimento.
Sembrerebbe che affiggere le ordinanze di demolizione abbia la precedenza sulla festività del Sabbath,
e che sia permesso.
Lunedì 29 agosto 2016, rappresentanti del governo, scortati dalla polizia, hanno demolito
degli argini che accumulavano acqua di valle allo scopo di coltivare meloni in
primavera - nel villaggio beduino di Rakhme, vicino Yeruham nel Negev.
Sabato sera, 10 settembre 2016, un colono ha investito una bambina palestinese di
5 anni, uccidendola, mentre guidava sull'uscita nord dall'insediamento di Efrat, che è
in realtà una strada interna di proprietà della città palestinese di Al Khadr, ora usata dai
coloni, dato che Efrat si è espanso proprio fino alle case di Al Khadr.
Secondo i Palestinesi quel colono li aveva già minacciati di morte.
Per anni i Palestinesei del villaggio di Burin, a sud di Nablus, hanno subito
maltrattamenti da parte dei coloni di Yitzhar e Beracha, sostenuti dall'esercito israeliano.
Lunedì 5 settembre 2016, i coloni hanno varcato il confine di Burin (Area B) con un trattore
provenendo dall'insediamento di Beracha, scortati da soldati ed hanno iniziato ad arare un
pezzo di terra di 4-dunam. Gli abitanti del villaggio giunti sul posto sono stati cacciati via.
Giovedì 15 settembre 2016, un incendio è divampato nell'area a pascolo di Burin. I soldati
ed i coloni hanno impedito che un mezzo antincendio locale si avvicinasse per spegnere l'incendio.
I ragazzi del villaggio li hanno sfidati. I soldati hanno inseguito i bambini fin nel villaggio
e ne hanno presi due. I coloni hanno appiccato il fuoco agli olivi ed ai mandorli in un campo
appartenente al villaggio. L'incendio è stato appiccato dai soldati.
Lunedì 19 settembre 2016, agenti del governo scortati dalla polizia hanno demolito
le case dei Beduini nel Negev - tre case a Za’arura, a ovest di Fur’a. Hanno anche
demolito Al Araqib ancora una volta. Otto Beduini hanno demolito le loro case con loro mani, minacciati
dal fatto di pagare le spese per la demolizione se l'avesse fatta lo Stato.
Bil'in, the symbol of the popular joint struggle of Palestinians, Israelis (with the anarchists against the wall initiative), and internationals, was a site of a year long experiment. The new war minister of Israel tried to extinguish the joint Friday demos by "neglect". The harassments during the demos diminished (first end to the shooting and later refraining from confronting the demos) but the night invasion to harass the village continued. The number of participants diminished gradually but continued. The fact that Bil'in was the only place Palestine could demonstrate without restriction was unbearable... The experiment ended. The Israeli state force is back in the confronting of demos and the shooting of tear gas resumed.
textPalestine-Israel - One apartheid state nearing 50th birthday and the tension rise* 17:00 Sat 06 May by Ilan S. 1 comments
The focus on the Israel-Palestine one apartheid state is more and more in the world media. The fear of Europe - mainly from the extreme Muslim terror, combined with the B.D.S. movement, increase the pressure on Israel. Even US call for at least partial retreat from 1967 conquest of the remaining Palestinian region. The sham excuse Israel will retreat only with final peace agreement in which the Palestinians renounce the right of return of the 1948 refugees is exposed when even the Hamas agree on 1967 borders. Frustrated from the Palestinian Authority yielding to the Israeli needs the Fatah opposition initiated the prisoners hunger strike of 1700 inmates which may ignite a mass revolt of the Palestinians of the west bank. Meanwhile, the harassment of the non-armed joint struggle of grass root village activists and the Israeli anarchists against the wall, that was a bit dormant seems to be ignited again marked with the use live ammunition in Nabi Saleh (taking advantage of the absent of Israelis).
textPalestine-Israel, Celebrating a 12 years of persistent struggle in Bil'in and a small victory* 15:32 Sat 18 Feb by Ilan S. 1 comments
Regional change and new Israeli war minister who is clearly against annexation of additional of parts of Palestine (and even for cutting parts annexed 1948) resulted in the diminishing of the suppression of the non armed popular struggle. For months the Israeli forces diminished the harassment of the Friday demos of villages activists and the Israeli anarchists against the wall. In bil'in they nearly stopped entirely any shooting of tear gas and bullets, seldom tried to stop us from approaching the separation wall... The participants of the big demo of the 12th year celebration could not see even one soldier till the end of the demo when kids forced open the gate of the wall and resulted in a mildest ever response. The failure of the big plan of US to subvert the countries of the region as it exported terror (Al Quida, Daesh and Shieh advances) forced it to compromises with Iran, Rojave, (and probably with Syrian Assad, Russia and the Palestinians).
At the beginning, up to 450 Israelis of the radical left joined the hundreds of Palestinians of Bil'in and the region in the struggle against the robbery of the village land for the Modi'in Elit settlement and the separation fence used for that. It took more than 7 years till the state forces stopped to try to prevent activist from joining the Bil'iners in the Friday joint demonstrations. It took another 5 years till they stop to shoot on us tear gas and "non lethal" bullets. Two Bil'iners paid with their life, hundreds of Palestinians and Israelis were injured, detained and even arrested (Palestinians for long time up to a year and a half, Israelis no more than a day or two). Many thousands of international activists participated with us and contributed later for the international struggle against the occupation. The harassment of the village activists at nights mainly continue, but the struggle will not stop.
After so many years it is hard to get used to the replacement of tear gas and bullets with threat of arrests if we cross an imaginary line. For many years we worried about the day when the Israeli state decision makers will minimise or even stop the the harsh repression of the weekly joint demonstrations against the occupation, the settlers and the separation wall. On 27-5-16 was the first demo in Bil'in the state forces did not shoot us. It took a dozen such non shootings to realize it is a real strategic shift. The last Friday they even "invited" us to return the demo to the area near the new separation wall - forbidden for us for about a year. It seems the multi millions invested in the struggle against the B.D.S. recruited a more intelligent managers who was able to force the army to swallow their pride and stop harassing the Friday demos and the international activists participating in them.
textPalestine-Israel, The joint struggle is still kicking even if on lower level* 18:34 Tue 12 Jul by Ilan S. 1 comments
The joint non armed struggle of the Israeli anarchists against the wall with local activists which confronted the Israeli state forces was unique at the beginning and drew to it less radical Israelis. Along the years were efforts to unite the local struggles and rise the level of activity but both Palestinian and Israeli authorities thwarted it. Alternative projects in the less radical Israeli circles diminish the pool the AAtW recruit. In the Palestinian side some of the successes and softening of the Israeli suppression contributed its share for dropping out of the on going joint struggle. The radical change of suppression of the Friday demos in Bil'in - mainly not shooting us any more with bullets and tear gas grenades, and the Ramadan rose some second thoughts even in the most persistent activists. But, the Tsumud (persistent) moral was regained in the relative big demo of 8 July.
textPalestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue in spite of the drop out of activists* 03:41 Wed 08 Jun by Ilan S. 1 comments
Two consecutive Fridays without being shot at after 11 years can destabilize even long time activist like me.... For 13 years the anarchists against the wall initiative and Palestinian partners continue the struggle even when the expectation for practical gains diminished. Changes in the separation fence/wall are less likely than ever. The remaining road blocks are the ones which are not just for marginal harassments. The diminishing hardship inflicted on activists opened other personal options than struggle. However, there are still a hard core of old time activists and some new of the younger generation. The contribution of the joint struggle to gains in the international support is more obvious than ever, and even less radical joint struggles continue in parallel like Sheikh Jarakh, Taayush in the south and "militants for peace".
textPalestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue in spite of the huge changes in the region* 04:28 Thu 17 Mar by Ilan S. 1 comments
On the twelfth year of joined struggle in Bil'in it lost its glamour. Many of the activists lost the excitement of the direct action confrontation which is not a new thing any more. The expansion of the joint struggle to other locations and the expanding of the non armed struggle in the west bank contributed to it too. Many of the activists just "moved on" to a less intensive ways of life. But, some old time activists can not "let go". The other day, I searched the http://archive.org/web/ for the old site of: "This appeal, the first to call on-line for a boycott against Israel, was posted in April of 2001".(http://matzpun.com)... and read again our 35 original signatories of this pre-BDS. The majority are still in the struggle. Looking back on my 65 years of struggle I regard ainfos.ca, this petition, the joint struggle in Bil'in and my stories from the year 2100 - 50 years after the revolution* as the most significant ones.
textPalestine-Israel, The eleven years joint struggle in Bil'in as a seed for the third youth intifada.* 17:36 Sun 21 Feb by Ilan S. 1 comments
At the beginning, the joint struggle in Bil'in of the Israeli Anarchists Against The Wall with the local activists differed only with a consisted Fridays direct actions against the construction of the separation fence. The Israeli state response was a prolonged effort to block the participation of the Israeli activists that failed due to geographic conditions, persistence of the Israeli activists, and our ingenuity. One of the restricting factors on the suppression efforts of the state forces was wide spread sympathy for these demos in the Israeli media, and public. In a desperate efforts the army sent covert agents to initiate stone throwing from the demo on the state force. After a long while they succeeded. Youngsters of the village got into the stone throwing habit. For years it was all over the media and contributed to the stone throwing culture of the Palestinian youth. This was a significant contributor factor to the already 4 months old "Children Intifada".
textPalestine-Israel, The joint struggle in the focus of the extreme right "leftists' bashing"* 16:09 Sun 14 Feb by Ilan S. 1 comments
The mounting international pressure on Israel with the B.D.S. as catalyst, initiated a rightist onslaught on the activists of the joint struggle. With cooperation of the main TV channel, two activists were arrested - even blamed to be involved in murder of a Palestinian collaborator of settlements... only to be released unconditionally weeks later. As part of the onslaught I got few seconds in the rightist item in the main TV news program summing our position that no state is a solution - not two states and even one democratic state is impossible to achieve before the Zionist settler colonialist project will be defeated by social revolution in the whole region. In another wide distribution of the rightist video item I was presented as claiming that the chant in the joint demos for freedom to Palestine from the river to the see is not a call for a state for the Palestinians, but for a joint secular democratic state for all the inhabitants - Palestinians, Jews, and others... It seems we owe them rightists for the wide publicity.
textA "Zionist left" and a real left - two parallel lines that will never meet. Apr 30 by Ilan S. 0 comments
The "far-reaching compromise" of the Israeli Communist Party (and its front Hadash) who are pretending to be non-Zionists, and their like on the Zionist left is "two states for two peoples". It means: the existence of the State of Israel within the 1967 borders - the "Green Line", in which the Palestinian citizens are a minority.
