No to war, No to dictators and States, No to corporations, No to religions, No to nationalism!

Dear Anarchist Comrades wherever you are,

We, anarchists stress that we are against war, against military attacks and militias. We are strongly against killing civilians and launching attacks against villages, towns and cities killing innocent people discriminating and destroying their places.

We believe neither any states nor any groups have the right to attack anybody else on the grounds of religion, nationality, land disputes and others. We believe whatever the justification is for attacking and launching wars are simply against freedom and humanity.

Our attitude and position against the current war that the State of Turkey has launched on Afrin, the rest of Rojava and its citizens is not because we are Kurdish or Kurdish-speaking. We are against all wars as a matter of principle in all corners of the world.

We stand up firm by our anarchism principles against whoever launches this kind of war. We have the same attitude and same position even if Kurds launch war to invade the freedom, cultures and society of any ethnics or groups. Our stand against the State of Turkey in launching the war against Rojava is from this position no more and no less. We are against war, against the State, against any kind of superiority, class division and against the capitalist system.

In view of the above we reject any kind of war whether launched by the State of Turkey against Rojava or another State against some nation or group elsewhere in the world.

We believe that we should be against war and denounce it, we should campaign in any way against glorifying war and war mango. It is our sole duty to encourage and persuade people to stand up against war. It is our duty to make people more aware that war only brings more profit and interest for the corporations especially the military fields. In the meantime it brings us more poverty, more misery, more displacement, losing our beloved ones, soaring prices, homelessness, unemployment, destroying our places & our climate as well as dividing us all.

We also denounce all TV channels and the social media in the region that since the aggressive attacks have started, they have tried to deny the rights of people in Afrin and Rojava and do not recognise their legitimate defence. They are deceiving people and trying to mobilise them in support of the State of Turkey under different reasons and bringing them falls justification.

No to State and nationalism
No to Authority
No to Religion’s power
No to Parliamentary System
No to Militia’s power
No to Political Party and Capitalism
Yes to self-organising and self-administration

It is unclear from this statement whether the KAF is for or against the Kurdish people waging a just war of defense against the aggression by the Turkish imperialist state. To do this would require using the militia (the statement denounces all militias) and require warfare (the statement rejects all war). Yet the statement speaks of the Kurds' "legitimate defense." Do they mean a "defense" solely by Ganhdian nonviolence or do they support the armed struggle of the Kurdish peop[e?

We do not believe that it is the Libertarian Socialist, because what was built there is a government, a small state, it is a power above people, it is mainly a power of one political party, PYD. It is true that there have been parties involved, but they have no real power and very much dependent of PYD. We know that self-administration in Rojava is very much different from the kind of autonomies that people actually have it and formed through direct democracy. In Rojava’s self- Administration all the decision making done by PYD not by the people in Rojava. PYD leads politics in Rojava , who is making important decision on peace and war and others without going back not just to people even does not consult the administration and the Tev-Dem. We have example: In its pack with US PYD never consulted its people even in its agreement with UNKS that we mentioned in our statement, PYD made important decision alone.

We hope our reply is satisfactory

Warm solidarity

The response by of the KAF is disappointing. They answer the question, Is Rojava a libertarian socialist communal society? They argue that it is not. Whatever its virtues, the Rojavian community is still a state and not a socialist society. Okay, I mainly agree.

But I asked a different question: "whether the KAF is for or against the Kurdish people waging a just war of defense against the aggression by the Turkish imperialist state. ... do they support the armed struggle of the Kurdish peop[e?" They do not answer this.

The Kurdish people should be able to determine their own future. They should be able to decide if they want a non-state communal federation (the anarchist opinion) or a state of their own or autonomous regions within existing states. That should be up to the Kurds. It is not the job of big states to impose their rule on the Kurds. Therefore anarchists and other libertarian socialists should support the armed self-defense of the Kurdish people.

The KAF statement sounds like it would support the Kurdish resistance only if the Kurds were in an anarchist federation. Otherwise, the Kurds are no better than the Turkish invaders. I give full credit to the KAF for upholding anarchism in a difficult situation. But our support to the Kurdish people should not depend on whether they agree with anarchism.

interrojavaeng.png imageThe Rojava Revolution defended the world, now the world will defend the Rojava Revolution! 23:48 Wed 05 Jan by Various anarchist organisations 8 comments

Embargo, cutting off water sources and air strikes against civilians have been some of the war crimes committed by the fascist Turkish state throughout this year against the revolution in Rojava.

While facing the internal political and economic crisis, the Erdogan government has to accept the failure of the military operations in the mountains of Kurdistan, appealing to the use of chemical weapons, in the face of the resistance of the Kurdish warriors of the revolution.

The intensification of the attacks last October, the flyers launched from the aeroplanes and the recent troop movements threaten a new invasion of the autonomous territories in the North and East of Syria.

At this delicate moment, we want to reaffirm our solidarity with our revolutionary comrades and all the peoples of Rojava and condemn once more the occupation of Rojava, the multiple aggressions and war crimes of the Turkish neo-fascist state and its jihadist allies, as well as their preparations for war.

The UCL participated in the European delegation to observe the Turkish war crimes in Iraqi Kurdistan.
This delegation is taking place at a time when Erdogan is received at the NATO summit. His formal meeting with Macron does not hide his objective, which is obviously to legitimize his illegal invasion of Iraq, and to obtain from NATO a blank check to continue his military campaign.
His pretext: to eradicate the PKK, a "terrorist organization" according to the Council of Europe's blacklist.
His strategy: to intimidate European nations, to maintain bombings, military pressure and destruction of crops in Iraqi Kurdistan, to force Mahmoud Barzani's KDP to collaborate openly with him, against its brothers and sisters in Kurdistan.
At the time of publishing this information, the conference of the delegation has been prevented by the KDP, the hotel where it is held is surrounded by the military, and our comrades have been sent back to France after interrogation by the police of the KDP, traitor to the Kurdish cause.

We – nearly 150 politicians, human rights advocates, journalists, academics, members of parliaments, political activists, ecologists, and feminists from all over Europe – have been closely following the dangerous developments resulting from Turkey’s attacks on South Kurdistan (North Iraq) since the 23rd of April 2021. As a result, we have gathered in Erbil today and decided that we must speak out.

The support and solidarity with innocent people can be done in different ways. It can be through launching complaints, expressing anger and frustration, protests, and demonstrations. The best kind of support and solidarity is boycotting all the goods that are made in Turkey and by Turkish companies wherever they are. Boycotting its media, universities, language colleges and stopping holiday bookings to Turkey. While Turkey has got so many interests in Iraqi Kurdistan the boycott is very effective. Turkey has hundreds of companies plus colleges, shops, factories there, and it is the main country for Kurdish holiday makers. In short Iraqi Kurdistan is one of the main market for the Turkish capitalists and the others. Boycotting Turkey and the Turkish goods can also put pressure on the Kurdistan Reginal Government, KRG, Iraq and the foreign companies to meet people’s demand.

There is no doubt ignoring the experiences of history will lead to the same experiences being repeated. What is happening at the moment in Rojava proves this statement.

Afrin belongs to the peoples of Afrin. Peoples living in Afrin were born in these lands and died in these lands. Living there is not related to any plans or programs. They are not in Afrin as part of a strategy. Afrin, for them is water, bread, food, play, stories, friends, mates, lovers, streets, homes, neighborhoods. But for the state, it is only a strategy. A strategy that does not care about Afrin or the peoples of Afrin. [Türkçe] [Castellano] [Ελληνικά] [Français] [Italiano]

The Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group’s solution to the oppression of the Palestinians is the same as for oppression everywhere. The problems of capitalism can only be solved by workers’ revolution. In Palestine, that means defeating Zionism and replacing it with the No State Solution, a society of libertarian communism that operates on the basis of consistent federalism.

The announcement of Trump that the US would immediately stop aerial bombardments and withdraw their diplomatic personnel, while their troops would all withdraw within 3 months, officially signalled the end of the Syrian war, a war which has been portrayed as a “civil war” but one in which all of the world participated. While major powers, such as Russia, France, the UK, and the US, and regional powers such as Iran, Israel and Turkey participated directly, they had their Syrian proxies to fight against one another. The conflict, in the first place, wouldn’t have erupted without the decisive funding and support given by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey and Jordan to a frightful collection of armed jihadist lunatics.
