While a limp effort was made at last weeks G8 summit on Africa, to address the need to reduce protectionist trade barriers and subsidies by America and Europe (France in particular) at least there was recognition that Trade not Aid was what will really help Africa develop a capitalist infrastructure.
The crisis in Africa is food production, farming in particular. And as the UN Special Report shows that Aid so far has benefited large scale agribusiness, which has been a massive failure in Sub Saharan

The real source of economic development in this region is not large scale farming but collective farming of small villages and family farmers. In particular women, who have developed intervillage cooperatives such as in Senegal.
