OscailtCrisis in Turkey and the perspectives for the left Modernisation, authoritarianism & political islam2007-11-01T00:24:29+08:00Anarkismoanarkismoeditors@lists.riseup.nethttp://www.anarkismo.net/atomfullposts?story_id=6710http://www.anarkismo.net/graphics/feedlogo.gifAnarchists to the authoritarian and reformist lefthttp://www.anarkismo.net/article/6710#comment69172007-11-01T00:24:29+08:00Ilan ShalifStrange to see "advice" from anarchists to the authoritarian and reformist left....Strange to see "advice" from anarchists to the authoritarian and reformist left.<br />
"the cooperation among left-wing organizations should increase"<br />
<br />
Another point is that too many trees hide the forest.<br />
<br />
The case of Turkey is not only similar to South of America. It is the case of old colonialist and other third world societies integrated into the world capitalist system. The old precapitalist economy and elite give way gradually to the new ruling and electrodynamicly changing ruling elite sections, while the exploitation must be protected... Elements of compradore capitalism and promoting the army elite develop gradually to hegemony of the modern and more secular army elite, and later it give way to the emerging modern capitalist elite which is more in accord with older traditions.<br />
<br />
Fore sure conflicts with national minorities are different in each country, as well as the level of modernization when the old order start to change.<br />
<br />
At the end of the process we will see a modern capitalist states like Portugal, Japan, South Korea, South Africa. Singapore,etc. Other states are just near to it like Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia, Israel.<br />
<br />
As anarchists, we can do our long education against class society and states with our trying to "educate" the various "leftist" parties.....<br />
<br />
The analyzing of the splits and dynamics within the ruling elites are more enlightening when it is related to their role in the process of the integration of the specific country in modern world globalised capitalismauthoritarian left and modernization theoryhttp://www.anarkismo.net/article/6710#comment69262007-11-01T07:55:36+08:00Ender Yilmazi have to oppose both of your main criticisms.
firstly -as i stated before- ...i have to oppose both of your main criticisms. <br />
<br />
firstly -as i stated before- the left should develop a culture of cooperation in specific struggles. otherwise we just end up with sectarianism. <br />
<br />
secondly, you may be right about the trees and the forest, but the forest you are pointing is surely the wrong one. your paradigm of analysis is the modernization theory of 50s with some world-system framework. we think that the national security state is comparable to latin america, but the relations between the military and civil state bureaucracy and other social forces is certainly very different from there. (i did not really get your summary about the transformation of dominant classes, can you repeat it and also add how it correlates with lati america). also turkey is not following a line; modernization theory presumed that turkey, iran, south korea will follow the same line of development but all end up with quite different presents.spanishhttp://www.anarkismo.net/article/6710#comment69452007-11-03T10:07:43+08:00Diegofirst: sorry for my bad inglish but i don't now speak inglish...
