Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle intensify on the back ground of the intensifying of harassments
mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Tuesday January 29, 2013 - 22:31 by Ilan S.
It was not just the coming Israeli elections that Israeli settler colonialism intensified. It is part of the trend of last years in which the efforts to expand the settler colonialist project increase - as if to exploit the last opportunity. It is done within the 1948 borders - mainly with transfer of the Bedouins of the south. It is done within the occupied east Jerusalem. It occur in the C areas mainly near colonialist settlements and more so in areas intended to be annexed to Israel. In response, the third Intifada collect momentum and the anarchists against the wall are invited more and more to locations of joint struggles. The general election revealed that a substantial section of the capitalist elite start to distance itself from the costly settler colonialist project... But, it seems more international pressure is needed for a significant change. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment
Palestine-Israel, The third Intifada collect momentum with clear contribution of the joint struggle*
mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Monday January 21, 2013 - 19:39 by Ilan S.
A lot of the Israeli activists in the joint struggle with Palestinian popular initiative were skeptical about the contribution of the Anarchist Against the Wall initiative. They fail to see its contribution to recruiting and encouraging the less radical Israelis into initiating and/or participating in joint actions with Palestinians. They fail to see the contribution and legitimization of the struggle in the world arena; they fail to see the contribution for publicity - both within Israeli mainstream media and the world (Fife Brocken Cameras nominee for Oscar), and most of all the creation of a security net that prevents Israel from suppressing the popular struggle in a bloodbath and the mass arrest of Palestinian activists. The later peaks of Bab al-Shams (the Gate of the Sun) camp in Jerusalem and Al-Karamah (Dignity) at Beit Iksa no-one can ignore. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

Bab Al Shams (the gate of the Sun) is a one step higher of the non-armed direct actions the joint comity of the villages popular comities involved in. The political parties that marginally support the struggle failed to co-opt it so far. The creativity of the joint comity rouse to an higher level in this action, forcing the Israeli state to disregard its pretension of law and order, and acted against its own higher court and destroyed the camp. The world media was "recruited" again to promote the non violent struggle against the occupation. In each village where weekly demos are done, few of the activist were left behind to keep the joint struggle going. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment
Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle* on the last track of 131 years of settler colonialist Zionism.
mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Wednesday January 09, 2013 - 16:01 by Ilan S.
Interwoven with the Western imperial interests in the region, the nationalist-socialists Zionists initiated the immigration of nationalist Jews to Palestine. It interwove with the Ottoman-German-British-US dynamics and gradually collected momentum. As one of the last islands remaining from the colonial era (mainly because it involved the big settlers community and served strategic interests), its time is running out.... and faster since the "Arab Spring". Sensing the end, the die-hard leadership of the Zionist settler colonialists - in a last desperate effort - continue as if the end were not in sight and even increase their onslaught with diminishing restraint. To the background of this month's election, the onslaught is collecting momentum over recent weeks - as if the third Intifada were what the Israeli elite wanted. The popular struggle collects momentum and more so at the weekends. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

Less than three weeks to the Israeli elections, the settler colonialists are raising the level of belligerence with state forces restraining... the Palestinians and increasing harassment. The international imperial powers are refraining from restraining Israel, waiting for the post-election era. The Palestinian elite is "holding its breath" and restraining the unarmed third Intifada it criticizes in the open. The approaching international pressure - both formal and non-formal - is making the Israeli elite very uneasy, like a person who is riding a tiger and fears for his life, thinking what will happen when he gets off. The popular struggles and the confrontation with the occupation forces is expanding gradually to more locations than the long-term joint struggles. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

It was not a sudden eruption as the previous Intifadas'' uprisings. It is a gradual increasing of activities interwoven with the increased world wide involvement with the B.D.S. calls to boycott Israel. The Israeli security forces focus the threats and warning of the anarchists against the wall activists about our contribution to the de-legitimizing of Israel. The extreme right Israelis who sense the increasing pressures on the prime minister who tend to yield when pressure is too high, shift their support to the more to the right (and principled) party. The activities for the cleansing transfer of Palestinians from the choicest areas continue even when some steps are curtailed due to resistance and international pressure. north america / mexico / workplace struggles / news report Saturday December 22, 2012 - 03:00 by David
I started the day feeling pessimistic about what would happen and even though on the whole, people came, yelled and then went home, I was a lot more encouraged by the days events than I thought I’d be.
That said, let me be clear that this is an accounting of the days events and not any sort of feeling of victory or satisfaction with the business unions’ approach or their marriage to the democratic party. This is an attempt to describe what I was seeing glimpses of, piece that are present, just below the surface in spite of the unions’ backwards ways.
This bill is only possible because most of the unions have not been organizing, have been acting in the interests of the bosses as much as in the interests of workers and have wed themselves almost completely to the democratic party, who hasn’t really given them a thing in several decades. I don’t dispute any of that and have had my share of experiences with unions that make me sick to my stomach. That said, I think it is incorrect to write them off as obsolete, having run their course or irrelevant. The hundreds of thousands of people who participate in their unions, despite their problems don’t think so and I think it is a mistake to dismiss those sentiments and commitments. That was demonstrated pretty well in what I saw on Tuesday. ... read full story / add a comment

In a time when people are experiencing unparalleled hardship, Miami-Dade county is ramping up to steamroll more foreclosures. This news comes as rents are rising in Miami spurred on by international speculators and investors, and people losing their homes. Nationally homeless is increasing due to the pervasive unemployment, sub-poverty wages of the lowest tier of the working population, and the multi-decade long attacks on housing safety nets. We are now witnessing a homelessness that includes young able bodied people some of whom are working while homeless. ... read full story / add a comment

The failure so far of the political efforts by the Palestinian Authority to bring substantial results may increase the accumulation of frustration to the point that it may explode. The initial increase of non-armed local struggles is approaching explosion point in spite of the call by the Palestinian Authority to limit the struggle to the international political arena. In addition to the locations of the ongoing struggles, other locations are initiating such struggles. Beit Nuba and al-Mufakara are just two examples. The intensification of harassment up to the use of live ammunition during weekday raids in Ni'lin and Nabi Saleh may be part of other harassment by the Israeli state forces, whose escalation seems to ber aimed at initiating a Third Intifada. After the mainly political defeat of Israel in the attack on Gaza and the following defeat in the US, the Israeli state forces repression of the weekly demonstrations was met with restraining orders. It was expressed in a few cases of small units of soldiers escaping from stone-throwing youth - the video of the most pictorial one played again and again on Israeli TV channels. Rightist "talking heads" complained that the fleeing soldiers insulted Israel and harsher measures must be taken. The more realistic ones pointed to the international loss of respect for Israel that harmed protesters would aggravate. In addition to the usual Beit Ummar, Bil'in, Al-Ma'sara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'lin, Qaddum, South Hebron hills, and Sheikh Jarrah, there was the addition this week of Kufr ad-Dik and Krayut. After years of persistent struggle the first cracks emit a more pleasant melody. The pains of the fallen, the injured, and these suffering more than others is softened a bit by the defeat of Israel in Gaza and the UN. It seems that the Tsumud, the resistance and the popular unarmed struggle start to change the flow of things in the international arena. We see it again and again that when the scales are in balance, even a small group of activists who persist in struggle can tip the scales. The joint struggle contribute its share in obstructing the efforts of the Israeli establishment to equate the struggle against Israel with antisemitism. The joint struggle even seems to collect momentum and more locations of popular and joint unarmed struggles are increasing. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

In addition joint demos and actions in Bil'in, Beit Ummar, Ma'sara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, South Hebron Hills, and Sheikh Jarrah, there were actions of the higher committee of the local grass root communities and other localities - both in the occupied West Bank and within Israel with the war in Gaza as focus. The long struggle against the settler colonialist Zionist project was reviewed in the conference commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Israeli anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist Matzpen, whose heirs are the Anarchists Against the Wall. In it comrades stressed again the difference between the struggles against aspects of the Zionist project like military rule imposed on the Palestinians in the past within Israel and now in the 1967 occupied regions, and partial gains in it, and real solution only the social revolution in the whole region will bring. ... read full story / add a comment

Unexpected visitors came Sunday early morning to visit activists of the anarchists against the wall and others with a "present": It is not everyday I get a wake up call from the police. Without warrant, they entered our home and handed over four bits of paper each with a map showing one of the villages of Bil'in, Kfur Qaddum, Nil'in and An Nabi Salih. They explained that until mid-March 2013 I cannot go on Fridays to any of these villages. They recorded the whole thing and insisted on signing receipt. It took time to understand it was not a legal personal restriction order, but a bogus act of intimidation which have no legal meaning. As it was the initiative of the regional commander of the center of the occupied was bank I joked that may be he want us to shift the focus of our weekend joint actions to the southern region of Southern Hebron Hills, Ma'asara, and beit Ommar. We just received announcement from Beit Ommar on the last developments in their town and region. The group of the activists in Beit Ommar was enlarged, and a regional comity of South Hill of Hebron activists was formally established. Last Weekend, after the Holiday, all the regular struggles were resumed, and many details are included in this report. Beit Ommar, Bil'in, Ma'sara, Nabi Saleh, Nilin, Qaddom, South of Hebron Hills and Sheikh Jarah too.... After eight years of continuous activity against the separation fences and walls & occupation in the west bank, and sporadic activities within Israel (including within the spectrum of social justice). After sporadic discussions about our activities and organization, the anarchists against the wall meeting of activists decided last month on weekly meetings to promote the cohesion of the group and our activities within Israel. ... read full story / add a comment

The joint struggle in Bil'in have never stopped for the last seven years and eight months. It inspired the persistent struggles in Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, and Sheikh Jarrah. Activists of the persistent locals inspired and helped the struggles in additional communities. It was "upgraded" when the higher level comity of the struggling local communities was organized. In addition to support of the local struggles it was also expressed in joint actions like this of the previous week at the 443 high way to Jerusalem which pass through the occupied west bank of Palestine and this week at the Beniamin compound against the settler colonialist Rami levi supermarket. This week end the activities were minimal because of the Eid Al Adha holiday, but not canceled. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The struggles the anarchists against the wall were never restricted to joint local struggles against the separation fence (Masha, Zabuba, Budrus, Bidu, Bil'in, etc. Nor to other local struggles against the occupations (Beit Omar, Nabi Saleh, Quadum, 443 high way, etc. Nor even restricted to the joint actions together with Palestinian partners. We joined along the years direct actions: of social struggles, of refugees and guest workers, and even activities for the Gheto Gaza people (the last one was solidarity vigils and jail/court solidarity with the crew of Saturday captured ship which tried to overcome the siege of Gaza. To overcome the effects of widely dispersed activities on activists community feelings a weekly meetings were initiated. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The social struggle with in Israel fragmented. Some of the leading activists used the focusing of media on them for jumping on the election wagon. Only minority choose the non parliamentary road. Very few of the activist were educated by their struggle to adopt anti capitalist anti authoritarian road for social struggle. In the occupied territories lot of stress as the settler colonialists get more cooperation by state forces in are C but the threat of the collapse/disintegration of the Palestinian authority force Israel to make concessions no previous struggle and pressure brought about. The joint struggle of the anarchists against the wall has a diminishing momentum but we still go on. An action that blocked to day one of the main highways to Jerusalem for more than half an hour remind people on under current potentials. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment
