When the world media is focused on the war mongering of israel directed to Iran, the naZionist settler colonialists efforts directed towards the Palestinian farmers in area C intensify. More suppression efforts are directed to Nabi Saleh and Qaddum who are in the front of the resistance. Other confrontations are a plenty in the South of Hebron Hills where the colonialist settlers are the main attackers and the state forces "only" help them. Lot of house demolitions are a daily phenomena. Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Ma'asara who started the persistent non armed popular struggle against the separation fence and occupation floated to the margin of both suppression and media reporting. The sporadic vigils within Israel and more so in Tel Aviv seems to be on the margin of attention only. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment
Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle is still on after a year of big hopes and bigger disappointment
mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Wednesday September 19, 2012 - 01:50 by Ilan S.
There were high hopes at the beginning of the year both about the joint struggle against the occupation, about the social struggle, and about the treatment of guest workers families and the refugees. In all three of them there is a clear setback. Only one village (Qadumm) was added to the persistent weekly demonstrations, and settler colonialists harassments intensify the efforts to transfer villagers fro area C. Most of the activists of last year social struggle were lured to the parliamentary quagmire. Many of the guest worker families with children an lot of refugees were deported. More and more refugees are arrested and taken to the huge concentration camp most of the refugees are supposed to be incarcerated in... mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Monday September 10, 2012 - 22:37 by Ilan S.
It has been a long way since the first struggle of the Anarchists Against the Wall started in the Mas'ha camp nine years ago. The joint struggle against the separation fence has persisted and has expanded to other locations and to other aspects of the occupation. The struggle is also expanding inside the old boundaries of Israel to the social struggle of housing problems and gentrification in both Jewish and Palestinian communities, and to the general social struggle against piggish neo-liberalism. The focus of struggle regarding guest worker harassment shifted to the refugees' struggle against persecution, mass arrests and deportation. The bogus preparations of the war mongers for bombing of Iran initiated a lot of vigils. ... read full story / add a comment

mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Tuesday September 04, 2012 - 02:10 by Ilan S.
In addition to the regular locations of struggle the anarchists against the wall combine forces with the local popular comities of activists: Beit Ommar, Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nebi Saleh, Ni'ilin, and Qadum, comrades joined additional struggles. Sheikh Jarrah, South of Hebron Hills, and within Israel: Haifa regional court, Saharonim concentration camp, and demos against the war mongering. The uncertainty regarding the exploding of the Tycoons bauble, the economy slump, the war mongering regarding Iran and the scandalous treatment of the refugees dump a bit the energy of the activists. The continuous and escalating of transfer efforts of Palestinians farmers in the main targets of Jordan valley, South of Hebron Hills and the hoses demolitions result in may minutes of felt helplessness. The Israeli state forces have escalated their repression lately. Their main targets are pressure on Palestinian farmers to transfer out of the Jordan valley and the south of Hebron hills, and the joint struggle against settler expansion and Israeli state terror at Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, and Qaddum. Throughout recent weeks there have been demonstrations and vigils against the intended bombing attack by Israel on the nuclear facilities of Iran. A few of them in front of the security compound at Kaplan street, others were mainly in front of the not far away apartment tower where the security minister Barak lives. ireland / britain / workplace struggles / news report Thursday August 23, 2012 - 16:06 by WSM- Belfast
Around 50 people attended a lunch time vigil today organised by the Belfast Trade and District Council. A range of political organisations and unions attended including the Independent Workers Union, the WSM and Organise! During the rally one speaker from the council also referred to the police being workers too. This will provide little comfort to working people on the receiving end of state violence and terror. As our comrades from the Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front note, ‘The role of the police is to repress and silence the working class and poor. This problem cannot be fixed by commissions or enquiries – as some people think. Ask the family of Andries Tatane. It cannot be changed by elections. Remember: Sharpeville 1960, Soweto 1976, Uitenhague 1985, Michael Makhabane in 2000, SAMWU workers in 2009, Andries Tatane in 2011 … Marikana 2012. Palestine-Israel, In spite of the pick of the Summer heat, Ramadan day fasting and the war mongering
mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Tuesday August 21, 2012 - 18:55 by Ilan S.
After years of Friday demos in Bil'in and Saturdays and weekly days demos in other locations I took a break and traveled to the St-Imier international anarchist congress celebrating 140 years of struggle. I presented there three venues: one, the film Bil'in Habibti (Bil'in my love of Shai Polak) with discussion of the struggle in Bil'in, One about the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall initiative, and one about the Anarchist psychotherapy I developed (http://ilan.shalif.com/psychology/content1.htm). Nothing can compare to a week with thousands of anarchists of all trends from all over the world - meeting in person comrades I work with for years. The struggle in Israel continued with out me and some reports cover the activities I missed. ... read full story / add a comment

(...) with the recent deaths sought by the reactionaries, which are the culmination of the protest. Incredibly, the perpetrators seek to turn themselves into victims. What happened in Cajamarca, as well as the case of Bagua, to mention just two symbolic cases, were MASSACRES, which have the blood-stained hands of the current Ollanta Humala government and his Valdes cabinet, who did not hesitate to declare States of Emergency for greater social control, and to show their true neo-liberal, repressive, pro-imperialist and anti-popular face.

mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Sunday August 05, 2012 - 14:33 by Ilan S.
Due to the Ramadan day fasting weeks the joint struggle in the various villages was not as usual. As compensation our comrades were involved in the various demos in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In Jerusalem a pink-black block participated in the gay parade. In Tel Aviv comrades demonstrated on Wednesday the Susia demolition orders at the military radio station. On Saturday comrades participated in the commemoration meeting of the massacre at the gay club three years ago. Not far away, we had the social struggle - Occupy Tel Aviv. In spite of a competition by a reformist split of the movement meeting promoted by media and hired leafleting workers, our march and demo was even better than the three previous Saturday demos of July. Tomorrow, I am on my way to the international anarchist congress in St-Imier Swiss, commemorating the 140 anniversary of the first anarchist congress there. ... read full story / add a comment

Black Cat Press is pleased to announce the publication of "Revolution" by Carlo Cafiero for the first time ever in English (indeed nor has it ever been published as a complete volume in the original Italian!). The book brings what is certainly Cafiero's most complete, original work to English-speaking audiences for the first time. It is also an extremely important work in that it is one of the earliest attempts at compiling a complete theoretical view of the revolutionary ideal of anarchist communism.
