What does this tell us about how anarchists today should relate to current struggles for self-determination of oppressed peoples?From 1954 to 1962, a vicious, war raged between the people of Algeria and the French state. Anarchists in France played a small but significant role in opposing their government’s colonial war. Their activities and views are covered in this exceptional book, along with anarchists’ attitudes toward post-war Algeria. In Italia, come in gran parte della UE, il 2012 è stato un anno in cui le politiche di austerity hanno segnato il clima politico.L'azione del governo Monti - continuazione di quella del governo Berlusconi - si è esplicata implacabile su vari fronti, colpendo diritti e tutele dei lavoratori (col blocco della contrattazione nel settore pubblico e liberalizzando i licenziamenti nel settore privato), tagliando la spesa sociale per scuola e sanità, puntando alla riduzione del deficit, con conseguente impoverimento delle classi lavoratrici e crollo della domanda interna e dei consumi (-4,8% rispetto al 2011).[English]

La incapacidad histórica de la clase dominante argentina de poder aplicar (y sostener en el tiempo) recortes similares a los griegos y españoles de hoy día, es un proceso de largo aliento que comienza con el primer peronismo.Experiencias concretas como la resistencia obrera y peronista contra el Plan Conintes, los diversos “azos” nucleados en torno al Cordobazo contra la política “económicamente racionalizadora” del Onganiato, las huelgas generales en contra de la última dictadura militar, los saqueos que signaron el fin del gobierno de Alfonsín y la rebelión popular del 2001 han demostrado que cuando un gobierno argentino empieza a realizar ajustes se enfrentará, más pronto que tarde, con la oposición de la gran mayoría de la sociedad, teniendo a la clase obrera como su columna vertebral y punta de lanza.

The continuing opposition by loyalists to the decision by Belfast city council to limit the flying of the Union Jack (bringing it into line with other council chambers) is a product of a deeply sectarian colonial settlement that smothers the importance of class.The disturbances were pretty predicable in the context of summer riots over parading, intra-unionist rivalry and rising anger in traditional protestant working-class communities over shortage of jobs, housing and perceived gains made by the ‘nationalist’ community. The mass inflammatory leafleting by unionist parties in the days leading up to the council vote served to heighten fears in a constituency which is easily inflamed and mobilised in defence of the realm. This is not the cause of the disturbances; but the logical conclusion of capitalist decay and opportunist politicians battling for the hearts and minds of protestant working class communities - disenchanted and disillusioned with the peace dividends promised over 10 years ago. |
