In addition to the regular locations of struggle the anarchists against the wall combine forces with the local popular comities of activists: Beit Ommar, Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nebi Saleh, Ni'ilin, and Qadum, comrades joined additional struggles. Sheikh Jarrah, South of Hebron Hills, and within Israel: Haifa regional court, Saharonim concentration camp, and demos against the war mongering. The uncertainty regarding the exploding of the Tycoons bauble, the economy slump, the war mongering regarding Iran and the scandalous treatment of the refugees dump a bit the energy of the activists. The continuous and escalating of transfer efforts of Palestinians farmers in the main targets of Jordan valley, South of Hebron Hills and the hoses demolitions result in may minutes of felt helplessness. The Israeli state forces have escalated their repression lately. Their main targets are pressure on Palestinian farmers to transfer out of the Jordan valley and the south of Hebron hills, and the joint struggle against settler expansion and Israeli state terror at Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, and Qaddum. Throughout recent weeks there have been demonstrations and vigils against the intended bombing attack by Israel on the nuclear facilities of Iran. A few of them in front of the security compound at Kaplan street, others were mainly in front of the not far away apartment tower where the security minister Barak lives. After years of Friday demos in Bil'in and Saturdays and weekly days demos in other locations I took a break and traveled to the St-Imier international anarchist congress celebrating 140 years of struggle. I presented there three venues: one, the film Bil'in Habibti (Bil'in my love of Shai Polak) with discussion of the struggle in Bil'in, One about the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall initiative, and one about the Anarchist psychotherapy I developed (http://ilan.shalif.com/psychology/content1.htm). Nothing can compare to a week with thousands of anarchists of all trends from all over the world - meeting in person comrades I work with for years. The struggle between the Baath regime of Bashar al-Assad and the popular masses of the city and country in Syria that started on 15 March 2011 seems to have consumed both sides in its ferocity. It is promising imminent victory to a third force that has been carefully engineered, supported and armed by the international forces of counterrevolution. This third force is a bourgeois coalition composed of different political tendencies, including opportunist pro-imperialist bourgeois politicians living in exile and waiting for their day to come, Sunni Muslim movements of various stripes, most saliently the Muslim Brotherhood, direct representatives of various sections of the Syrian bourgeoisie and defectors from the Syrian army. The forces of international counterrevolution, consisting mainly of imperialism, first and foremost the U.S. of course, Sunni Arab reaction led by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and Turkey (Israel has kept an incredibly low profile) seem to be nearing success in their grand aim of deviating the uprising of the popular masses, an authentic part of the Arab revolution, into a ‘responsible,’ pro-imperalistic movement that can take Assad's place without a radical rupture with the existing bourgeois state. read full story / add a comment

Due to the Ramadan day fasting weeks the joint struggle in the various villages was not as usual. As compensation our comrades were involved in the various demos in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In Jerusalem a pink-black block participated in the gay parade. In Tel Aviv comrades demonstrated on Wednesday the Susia demolition orders at the military radio station. On Saturday comrades participated in the commemoration meeting of the massacre at the gay club three years ago. Not far away, we had the social struggle - Occupy Tel Aviv. In spite of a competition by a reformist split of the movement meeting promoted by media and hired leafleting workers, our march and demo was even better than the three previous Saturday demos of July. Tomorrow, I am on my way to the international anarchist congress in St-Imier Swiss, commemorating the 140 anniversary of the first anarchist congress there. read full story / add a comment

On the background of the Israeli warmongering focused on the Iranian nuclear initiative, Israel intensifies its steps for house demolition and transfer of Palestinians from area C, which is 60% of the occupied West Bank. The Palestinians persist in the Tsumud mode of resistance. Israeli and international activists join whenever they can - mainly in the region of the hills south of Hebron and the Jordan river. Israeli state forces increase their efforts to exclude the internationals but limited by world PR. In spite of the warmongering, the world economic recession, and the hot weather, the social struggle continues in the main cities. The focus of repression of the joint struggle against the occupation and settler colonialist encroaching lands near settlements was a day after day invasion and harassment in the heroic village of Nabi Saleh. Fa caldo. Fa molto caldo a metà giornata in questi giorni di mezza estate. Nei villaggi, i palestinesi di religione musulmana hanno iniziato venerdì 20 luglio il periodo di Ramadan che prevede fino al tramonto l'astinenza da cibo ed acqua. Di conseguenza c'è meno partecipazione alle manifestazioni unitarie, che sono però più vivaci grazie al fatto che d'estate arrivano frotte di attivisti internazionali in ferie. Ci sono state le consuete manifestazioni del venerdì a Bil'in, Ma'sara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'lin, Kufr Qaddum, Sheikh Jarrah ed il sabato 21 a Beit Ummar. [English] read full story / add a comment

It is hot. Very hot in the middle of the days in the middle of the summer. The Palestinian people of the villages who follow the Muslim religion started this Friday the Ramadan holidays in which eating and drinking is forbidden when the sun is shining. So the joint demonstrations were a bit shorter and smaller, but more lively as it is the season when a lot of international activists have their Summer vacations. We had this week the usual Friday demos in Bil'in, Ma'sara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'lin, Kufr Qaddum, Sheikh Jarrah and Saturday at Beit Ummar. Accompanying the villagers near colonialist settlements in the South Hebron hills... and throughout the week - peaking on late Saturday evening in the Social Struggle. La lotta unitaria degli attivisti palestinesi con gli attivisti israeliani ed internazionali non ha mai potuto contare su un consenso generalizzato. In Israele, negli ambienti più reazionari si obietta che vi sono influenze di componenti laiche, mentre i "nazionalisti" estremisti si oppongono agli attivisti israeliani. L'Autorità Palestinese invece non è mai stata troppo contenta di questa lotta indipendente. Alcuni "militanti" (palestinesi, ndr) sono contro la modalità di lotta non-armata. Persone di strette vedute non hanno un'idea del contributo che la lotta unitaria dà alla pressione internazionale su Israele perché metta fine all'occupazione o almeno attenui il livello di repressione. The joint struggle of Palestinian activists with Israeli and international activists was never a consensus affair. The more reactionary objected to the influence of secular partners. Extreme "nationalists" oppose the Israeli activists. The Palestinian authority was never too happy with the independent struggle. Some "militants" were against the non-armed mode of the struggle. Narrow-minded people did not have a clue about the joint struggle's contribution to international pressure on Israel to put end to the occupation or at least to lessen the level of repression. The demo against the renewal of discussions of the PA with Israeli rulers brought the PA objections to the open. ---- In Israel, the social struggle collects momentum while the split between the reformists who wish to join the parliament and those who refrain from that quagmire. In passato, gli attivisti israeliani fermati durante le lotte unitarie venivano rilasciati alla fine della manifestazione oppure dietro cauzione in tarda serata o in nottata dopo un interrogatorio per essere infine diffidati a recarsi in quella regione per due settimane. Raramente accadeva che gli attivisti rimanessero in stato di detenzione anche nel corso della notte per essere poi rilasciati dal giudice il giorno dopo con restrizioni fino ad un mese. In the past, Israeli activists detained in joint struggle activities were released after the action ended or on bail late evening/night after interrogation in the police station and banned for two weeks from the specific region. Seldom activists were detained for the night and released at court the next day or banned for up to a month. In very seldom cases activists were detained for two nights, or asked by prosecution for longer time. Last Friday an Israeli comrade was detained at Nebi Saleh. Three days later, on Monday evening at about 6pm, he was released after a Jerusalem District Court judge ruled that there was no evidence to substantiate the soldiers’ allegation of assault. He was however indicted for “reckless behavior” and will face court proceedings for this charge. He also was banned from participation in actions for the following three months. The social struggle within Israel and support for refugees under intense expulsion efforts draw activist from the joint struggle. The internal repression of Palestinians within the west bank by Palestinian Authority personal do not contribute the moral of the people. The sporadic escalation and deescalation of Israeli assaults on the Gaza Ghetto continue, and so are the efforts to transfer Palestinian farmers from the C areas coveted by the colonialist settlers project. The first high pick of the third Intifada is nearly over with significant successes of the hunger strike. As counter measure the Israeli state forces increase the harassments and pressures on inhabitants of area C (69% of occupied west bank) to transfer out to area A of the Palestinian authority. In the on going joint struggles of the AAtW with the popular comities and activists, Nebi Saleh still get the most of the harassments. Quaddum and Beit Ummar, which are too locations of regular struggle which is beyond the initial joint struggles against the separation fence, get the on going pressure and punishment to prevent the expansion to the other villages and small towns. Within Israel comrades were involved with the struggle against deportation of African refugees and racial incitement against them.
