The joint struggle continue persistently with growing popular Palestinian struggle as a new environment. The Obama visit was focused on with another tent camp as a repetition of the Bab El-Shams action. Protesting Obama visit was focused on in other actions. The regular Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Maasara, South West and Southern Hebron Hills, and Sheikh Jarah, there were the Hebron action, the Jaffa vigil in solidarity with the hunger strikers Palestinian administrative prisoners, and a demo in Tel Aviv. As usual, activities of solidarity with and support for Palestinian and international detainees/prisoners of the joint struggles continued. read full story / add a comment

Le caratteristiche della terza Intifada sono meno drammatiche delle due intifade precedenti. Almeno in questi primi passi, politici e giornalisti esitano nel dire che si tratti proprio di intifada. Dopo grandi riflessioni al riguardo sui media israeliani, abbiamo sentito dire una sera che "i segni dell'Intifada sono già qui". L'intensificazione della repressione delle forze di stato israeliane nella Cisgiordania occupata ed il loro appoggio al terrore dei coloni negli ultimi mesi, non era chiaro se avessero a che fare con le pre-elezioni o se si puntava a convertire una intifada disarmata in una intifada armata. As the third Intifada character is less dramatic than the previous two. At least at the first years, politicians and media commentators hesitating to declare it as such. After more lot of pondering on the subjects in the Israeli media, we heard this evening a new tag: "the signs of Intifada are already here". The escalation of the suppression of the Israeli state forces in the occupied west bank and their backing of settler colonialist terror activities last months, was not clear if it is only pre election thing or is intended to convert the unarmed third Intifada into an armed one. The unarmed Intifada expand gradually with the solidarity with the hunger striking prisoners at its focus. To the older locations of Beit Ummar, Bil'in, Ma'asarah, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qadum, Sheikh Jarah, and South of Hebron Hills, and south-west joined last weeks Jayyus and Jaffa. Per i kurdi di Siria (una comunità di 2 milioni di persone, che costituisce la minoranza più numerosa pari al 10% della popolazione), da quando la rivoluzione si è trasformata in guerra civile, le cose si sono ancor più complicate. Nell'affanno di proteggersi dal caos iniziale, la comunità kurda aveva partecipato timidamente alla sollevazione sociale, cosa che molti siriani hanno letto come un accordo tacito dei kurdi con il regime per evitare di subirne la repressione; inoltre, questa neutralità è stata vista come una carta che Damasco gioca contro la società siriana.
Per il dirigente del Partito di Unità Democratica (PYD), principale frazione politica kurda in Siria, tutte queste critiche da parte degli attivisti sono infondate. “Non è vero che non facessimo parte della rivoluziona siriana all'inizio”, sostiene Saleh Muslim Mohamed [Ain al Arab, 1951]. “Per la verità noi abbiamo iniziato nel 2004, quando combattemmo il regine e subimmo molte perdite. Quando è iniziata la rivoluzione nel 2011 c'eravamo anche noi, però con una strategia e con una visione differenti. Crediamo in una rivoluzione pacífica perchè il regime dispone di tutte le armi. Se una rivoluzione inizia ad armarsi necessita che altri paesi la aiutino, e dunque si diviene ostaggio di altri paesi e dei loro interessi. E questa è la fine della rivoluzione”. Para los kurdos de Siria, una comunidad de dos millones de personas –representan a la principal minoría con un 10% de la población–, a medida que avanza la revolución transformada en guerra civil, más se complican las cosas. Su afán por protegerse del caos inicial les llevó a participar de forma tibia en el levantamiento social, en lo que muchos sirios vieron un acuerdo tácito con el régimen para evitar ser objetivo de la represión; además, esa neutralidad les llevó a ser vistos como una carta que juega Damasco en contra de la sociedad siria. Para el líder del Partido de la Unidad Democrática (PYD), principal facción política kurda en Siria, todas esas críticas por parte de los activistas son infundadas. “No es cierto que no fuésemos parte de la revolución siria desde el principio” aduce Saleh Muslim Mohamed [Ain al Arab, 1951]. “De hecho comenzamos en 2004, cuando combatimos al régimen y perdimos a mucha gente. Cuando comenzó la revolución en 2011 también nos sumamos, pero con una estrategia y una filosofía diferentes. Creemos en la revolución pacífica porque el régimen dispone de todo el armamento. Questa settimana la lotta unitaria si è intensificata con la protesta per la Morte di Mohammad Asfour che è morto dopo 2 settimane dallo sparo alla testa procuratogli dalle truppe israeliane nel corso di scontri per il sostegno ai prigionieri palestinesi. Man mano che la lotta si allarga crescono ben oltre le nostre capacità gli inviti ad azioni unitarie rivolte agli attivisti israeliani ed internazionali. Sebbene i media siano stati inondati dalla candidatura all'Oscar di "5 Broken Cameras" sulla lotta unitaria contro la recinzione della separazione a Bil'in, non si vede un'ondata di nuovi attivisti. A Giaffa (Tel Aviv) persiste il presidio quotidiano in piazza della torre dell'orologio in solidarietà con i prigionieri in sciopero della fame. [English] read full story / add a comment

This week the joint struggle was intensify with the protesting of the Death of Mohammad Asfour who died after being shot before 2 weeks in the head By Israeli Troops during Clashes supporting Palestinian prisoners. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.51243908880291...36986 As the struggle expand the invitation for Israeli and international activists to join additional actions surpass the numbers available. Though the media was flooded by the Oscar candidacy of 5 broken cameras about the joint struggle against the separation fence in Bil'in, still no flood of new activist happened. Repetir cafés nunca es mala idea, sobre todo cuando no sabes que te vas a llevar una tarea a casa: Salama me pidió, como favor personal, que tradujera esta carta que a continuación presento. Me lo pidió apenas dos días antes de la muerte de Chávez. Hablamos de que estaría bien que la leyera. Ahora que él ya no puede, esperamos que sus seguidores lo hagan y reflexionen sobre un error estratégico en el que la izquerda ha perdido al mundo árabe. Arabia Saudí es un gran aliado de la comunidad occidental, con el que Estados Unidos coopera en operaciones militares en Yemen y al que ha vendido el mayor paquete de armas de la historia. España también mantiene excelentes relaciones políticas y comerciales con Arabia Saudí. Meanwhile the escalation of the transfer efforts and terror of settlers continue. The third Intifada collect momentum focused around the hunger striking Palestinian prisoners. The joint daily vigils at the Jaffa clock tower continue as well as the week end joint struggles in the occupied Palestinian west bank and the within 1948 borders Bedouins of the south. The focus of this weekend was Bil'in were about 100 Israelis with the anarchists against the wall and about 100 Palestinians from the region joined village activists to mark the 8th yearly anniversary of the persistent joint struggle that initiated the popular unarmed struggle in western Palestine. A Hebron, delle foto della annuale azione unitaria per Shuhada ritraggono agenti della Autorità Palestinese che bloccano i manifestanti palestinesi in procinto di scontrarsi con le forze di stato israeliane. In spite of the reluctance of the Palestinian ruling elite, the third Intifada is collecting momentum. In Hebron, pictures of the yearly Shuhada joint action show a chain of Palestinian Authority soldiers blocking the Palestinian demonstrators from clashing with the Israeli state forces. However, the general mounting tension, the long hunger striking prisoners, the initiatives of the popular committees... and the Israeli "punishments" together with settler colonialist terror actions are feeding the gradual escalation. It is not sure yet if it will explode like a powder keg which got a spark or just escalate gradually. The regular locations of joint weekend struggle persist with some new ones, not yet regular. Si stanno intensificando gli sforzi dei coloni israeliani per sgomberare i Palestinesi - sia all'interno dei precedenti confini del 1948 che in quelli più recenti del 1967. Sotto la pressione dello Stato israeliano, per togliergli le terre residue e per trasferirli altrove, si trovano i Beduini a cui è rimasto solo il 5% delle terre che avevano prima del 1948. The Israeli settler colonialist efforts to transfer Palestinians - both within the older 1948 borders and in the new 1967 ones - is intensifying. The Bedouins who remained with only 5% of their pre-1948 lands are suffering from the state's efforts to take their remaining lands and transfer them to a few locations. The (joint) struggle is focused on al-Araqeeb village, which has been demolished nearly 50 times in the past two years. In the 1967 occupied regions, the transfer efforts are in area "C" - mainly near the colonialist settlements in the south and in the Jordan valley, areas Israel is planning to annex even when it will be forced to retreat from most of the 1967 occupation. However, the energies of the popular struggle are around the issue of the partial hunger strike of administrative detainees rearrested after they were released in accordance with the agreement to release Gilad Shalit. La tattica dell'azione diretta con le tendopoli continua insieme agli internazionali, ma con appoggio israeliano solo tramite i media e la solidarietà. La dura intensificazione della repressione si esprime più tramite la demolizione delle case che negli scontri diretti, ma anche nelle manifestazioni del venerdì abbiamo potuto sperimentare un inasprimento delle violenze da parte delle forze di stato. Sia sui media israeliani che nella pubblica arena la montante pressione internazionale ed il testardo rifiuto da parte della elite al governo di prenderne atto sta portando ad un imminente disastro. The tactic of tent(s) building direct actions continues with international,s but with Israelis only as media and support. The harsh escalation of suppression is expressed more in house demolitions than in direct action clashes, but even in the Friday demos we experienced an escalation of harassment by the state forces. Both in the Israeli media and the public arena the mounting international pressure and the stubborn refusal of the ruling elite to yield is bringing the aura of imminent disaster. The cracks within the ruling elite are expanding and threatening efforts to invest an increasing part of the national product in the settler colonialist project while recruiting the support of the organized orthodox Jewish parties by increasing benefits to their communities.
