In the October Revolution of 1917, the Bolshevik Party, together with other revolutionaries, overthrew the Provisional Government established in February and – together, initially, with left Social Revolutionaries – seized power. How did the Bolsheviks – a minority just eight months earlier, when the February Revolution overthrew the Tsar and established the Provisional Government – come to power so quickly? How did this small force emerge from relative obscurity to win large sections of the working class to its programme and take power? Herein lies the root and essence of United Front policy in a traditional Marxist sense.

3rd libertarian media fair for the German-speaking world. The fair will take place from the 29th to 31rst august 2014 at Essen, ruhr area, Germany. As reported earlier there is growing resistance against several construction projects in Wuppertal, Germany. One of these construction projects is at Gathe, on the corner of Markomannen street. One of the buildings which will have to be demolished for this project is the building where the autonomous center has been located for more than 14 years now. The autonomous center is a self-organised free space where many cultural and political events are organised by various groups. read full story / add a comment

A group of us FAU-IAA members living in Berlin who do not speak German as a native language have recently been organising a foreign workers working group, we hail from countries including Greece, England, Ireland, Canada, Sweden, Spain etc. We are organising our first public event and we'd encourage any interested parties resident in Berlin to attend and anyone with connections with interested parties in Berlin to publicise the event. read full story / add a comment

Scrisse e cantò canzoni di critica sociale nella tradizione di Brecht, Wedekind e Tucholsky ed è rimasto fedele all'idea del socialismo fino alla sua morte. In dem Buch "Black Flame" wird ein Überblick anarchistischen Denkens von den Anfängen im 19. Jahrhundert bis zu heutigen antikapitalistischen Kämpfen auf 5 Kontinenten gegeben. Alles hat heutzutage ihre lange Nacht – Museen, Partys, Kirchen und die U-Bahn. Worauf Ihr bisher aber vergeblich warten musstet, findet nun endlich und erstmals statt: die lange Nacht der Anarchie. Wo sich Herrschaft zementiert, ein rassistischer, sexistischer, transphober, kapitalistischer, antisemitischer und homophober Konsens sich täglich aufs Neue wieder erfindet und verschärft, ist Widerspruch gefragt wie eh und je. Nur vermeintlich alles ist möglich in Zeiten neoliberaler „Diversity“, die Dich dann hin und wieder ein wenig „anders“ sein lässt, wenn Du Dich prinzipiell brav ausbeuten und vereinnahmen lässt. Aber das kann’s doch nicht sein, nicht nur wir wissen (ihr doch auch, oder?) um die Möglichkeit und Notwendigkeit herrschaftsfreier Gesellschaft. read full story / add a comment

About 50 people gathered in the biggest hall of Berlin's Higher Court on the morning of June 10th. They were waiting for the decision on the FAU Berlin's appeal on whether they could call themselves a union. Only 15 minutes into the trial, the judge delivered the verdict.
