The issue of Marriage Equality is to be debated for the fifth time in Stormont today (Nov 2nd). Yet again, however, the DUP (Democratic Unionist Party) has launched a Petition of Concern to ensure that should the motion be successful its legal passing will be blocked. read full story / add a comment

For the first time in the history of the Northern Irish state a majority of MLAs (members of the Parliament in the North of Ireland) have voted in favour of Marriage Equality. The motion, however, has fallen due to the DUP (Democratic Unionist Party) launching a Petition of Concern which blocks any passing of the motion to law. read full story / add a comment

2016 is fast approaching and we will be subjected to endless documentaries about that start of our bloody history as a nation. It will also be a time for analysis of how far we’ve come since the proclamation of this Republic. Το Σάββατο που μας πέρασε, στις 31 του Οκτώβρη, έγινε μία σημαντική αρχή. Πάνω από 500 περίπου άτομα από την Πάτρα, την Αθήνα, το Βόλο,τα Γιάννενα, τη Λάρισα, την Καβάλα, την Κομοτηνή, την Αλεξανδρούπολη, την Ορεστιάδα και τη Θεσσαλονίκη, ένωσαν το λόγο και τη δράση τους, σε ένα απ΄το πιο απομακρυσμένα και μαύρα σημεία του χάρτη της χώρας, στο χωριό των Καστανιών, στα σύνορα Ελλάδας- Τουρκίας, δίπλα στο φράχτη του Έβρου. Anarquismo e sindicalismo : Os debates sobre a herança de Bakunin antes da Grande Guerra René Berthier Após a morte de Bakunin, produziu-se uma ruptura com os princípios que o revolucionário russo tinha elaborado. Segundo ele, a Internacional devia conservar o seu caráter de organização de massa : os trabalhadores não deviam aderir a partir de uma ideia, um programa, mas com base a solidariedade recíproca e a defesa dos seus interesses materiais. Bakunin considerava que o movimento operário internacional não tinha atingido um nivel de desenvolvimento homogéneo e que seria necessário longos anos de debates internos para atingir à esta homogeneidade. Entretanto, era necessário encorajar estes debates, mas impedir a todo custo a imposição de um programa único para a Internacional – projeto que Bakunin atribuia à Marx. read full story / add a comment
