Έχοντας γράψει ένα μεγάλο κομμάτι για την εκλογή του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, είδα ότι ο ΣΥΡΙΖΑ έχει κάνει συνασπισμό με ό,τι έχει περιγραφεί ως αντι-μεταναστευτικό δεξιό (ή ακόμη και ακροδεξιό) κόμμα, τους Ανεξάρτητους Έλληνες (ή ANEΛ). Οι ΑΝΕΛ τηρούν μια ισχυρή αντιευρωπαϊκή στάση, αλλά στο επίπεδο του να βλέπουν τους Έλληνες ως θύματα «διεθνούς συνωμοσίας». Έχουν εκλέξει 15 βουλευτές, κάτι που δίνει έναν συνασπισμό με μια ισχυρή πλειοψηφία με τον ΣΥΡΙΖΑ στη Βουλή, ενώ τα δύο κόμματα έχουν συνεργαστεί και στο παρελθόν. Πιθανώς το γεγονός αυτό καθώς και η σθεναρή στάση των ΑΝΕΛ κατά της Ευρωπαϊκής Κεντρικής Τράπεζας (ΕΚΤ) είναι οι λόγοι που ο ΣΥΡΙΖΑ αποφάσισε ότι η αντιμεταναστευτική τους πολιτική δεν αποτελεί κάτι σημαντικό. read full story / add a comment

Η οικονομική διάσταση της κρίσης δεν είναι αποτέλεσμα λάθος υπολογισμών ή παρεκκλίσεων. Σήμερα, σε όλη την Ευρώπη, η Αριστερά είναι ενθουσιασμένη καθώς ο ΣΥΡΙΖΑ βρίσκεται στην κορυφή των αποτελεσμάτων των ελληνικών εκλογών. Κάποιοι στην αριστερά έχουν προχωρήσει τόσο πολύ που ισχυρίζονται ότι η εκλογή αυτή θα σηματοδοτήσει το τέλος των πολιτικών της λιτότητας, κατά την ορολογία της αγγλικής Αριστεράς, ένα τέλος στην ιδέα ότι δεν υπάρχει εναλλακτική λύση (There Is No Alternative - ΤΙΝΑ). Enero de 2015. En las vísperas de retome de las luchas contra el aumento de los pasajes y en defensa de un transporte 100% público en Porto Alegre, recibimos la noticia de sentencia dada al compañero Vicente, militante de la Federación Anarquista Gaúcha (FAG) y luchador social del Bloque de lucha por el Transporte Público de Porto Alegre. Vicente está siendo condenado a un año y medio de prisión por daño al patrimonio público y crimen ambiental, “crímenes” que se habrían cometido en abril de 2013 durante una manifestación del Bloque de Lucha frente a la Prefectura de Porto Alegre. Se trata de la primer condena en Porto Alegre y para nosotros una clara tentativa de intimidar y meter miedo al conjunto de los luchadores y organizaciones que se están rearticulando las luchas en este inicio de 2015. Un expediente político e histórico utilizado por los sectores dominantes de nuestra ciudad y de todo el mundo: el encarcelamiento de los que se levantan. The forth presidential term of Alexander Lukashenko will expire in 2015. In 21 years Lukashenko has managed to suppress almost all social struggles in the country, kill several political opponents in the 90s, and eradicate nearly all of the official opposition. Lukashenko didn’t allow Belarusian society to transcend the limits of Soviet mentality. Any complaint or criticism of the government are met with repression from the police or the KGB. Any attempts of organizing face with prosecution and hysteria from the state. The policy of the government can be described simply as follows: “Everything that cannot be controlled must be destroyed”. La victoire de SYRIZA est un événement politique, non seulement pour la Grèce, mais pour l’Europe. Il s’agit d’une avancée importante dans la période que nous traversons. Le positionnement politique d’une fraction importante du salariat et du peuple, fût-il à travers le vote et la politique de délégation, n’est pas rien. Il y a un engagement des classes populaires dans ce processus politique. Ne pas sous-estimer cette expression, ne pas la mépriser est nécessaire. Cela n’enlève rien à la fermeté et à la clarté d’une politique qui opte pour l’autonomie populaire. L’action directe de masse, la prééminence du rapport de force sont premières. La question centrale est de viser toujours le déploiement du contre-pouvoir, de la contre-hégémonie, avec à la clef la construction du pouvoir populaire. read full story / add a comment

A press report in 1983 that a popular uprising in Upper Volta, a small and poor land-locked country in Western Africa had led to an obscure, but charismatic army officer becoming head of state was truly inspiring news for all those looking for some kind of breakthrough against imperialism in that part of the world. It had come after the depressing news that Margaret Thatcher's Britain had defeated Argentina in the Malvinas and Ronald Reagan's America had crushed Grenada, a clear message to the world that, on a moment's notice, imperialism would brutally crush anything that threatened its power. But because the American empire had been taken by surprise by the Cuban revolution twenty-four years earlier, many of us were then hopeful that maybe we were witnessing such a possibility again, in Africa. read full story / add a comment
