The Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group believes the best immediate response to Fascism is an internationalist working class movement of resistance in the form of a united front. Within this, we can put forward a libertarian communist solution to the many crises of capitalism. We participate in the Campaign Against Racism and Fascism because, although it has severe flaws, it does some good work and is the only working class united front available to us at the moment. No dia 16 de fevereiro de 2018, o governo ilegítimo capitaneado por Michel Temer, ex-vice presidente de Dilma Rousseff em um mandato e meio, decretou a intervenção federal no estado do Rio de Janeiro. Particularmente, não acredito em total congruência em política, como se a história pregressa e as condições estruturais pré-definissem todos os possíveis movimentos de atores individuais, agentes coletivos, instituições formais e redes mais ou menos formais de tomada de decisão e influência. O inverso é ainda mais verdadeiro. Não é possível admitir “coincidências” entre três fatores. read full story / add a comment

Estamos presenciando a inauguração de mais um capítulo do governo de “choque” aplicado ao estado do Rio de Janeiro. Um capítulo que é a plena continuação da nefasta política de segurança pública implementada no estado, alinhada ao avanço do golpe contra os trabalhadores, que destituiu anteriormente um governo que não servia mais aos plenos interesses da classe dominante nessa nova fase do sistema capitalista. No carnaval desse ano e seguindo a tradição de resistência da cultura afro-brasileira, a Paraíso do Tuiti lavou a alma de todos os/as trabalhadores/as brasileiros, mostrando que a reforma da previdência e trabalhista são ataques contra seus direitos sociais e escancarou o passado escravocrata da elite brasileira. Na última sexta-feira (16) o governo de Michel Temer (MDB) lançou um decreto que colocou a área da segurança pública do Estado do RJ sob o comando do exército brasileiro na figura de seu general Walter Braga Neto. Uma intervenção federal apresentada como solução ao que as elites dominantes chamam de “crise” na segurança pública e que deve ser entendida como um desdobramento do governo de choque já aplicado ao estado. Não é a primeira vez que o exército atua no RJ. As intervenções militares em comunidades e favelas cariocas são uma realidade. Contudo, a novidade está na centralização de comando de toda a segurança pública nas mãos de um comando militar. Se o expediente militar no controle social e na repressão dos oprimidos foi utilizado inclusive nos governos petistas, um novo passo foi dado. read full story / add a comment

Against Imperialism: International Solidarity and Resistance: A Discussion on Anti-Imperialism, National Liberation Struggles, & Extending Social Struggles to an International Level of Resistance Part of a discussion on International Solidarity & Revolutionary Resistance presented at the Regional Anarchist Gathering held in Jan.26-29/90 in Vancouver, Canada, the first half is a brief introduction to the historical development of imperialism, including the rise to dominance of US capital in the global economic order, and the second half discusses national liberation struggles, their contradictions & limitations, & an anarchist perspective to these struggles. If anarchist or autonomist struggles are to have any impact, a complete re-assessment of our analysis & methods is necessary.
