Em 1925, a costureira e militante anarquista Alzira Werkauser tomou a palavra e presidiu uma sessão do 3° Congresso Operário do Rio Grande do Sul. Nesta ocasião atuou como delegada sindical com mandato do sindicato dos alfaiates, costureiras e anexos. Alzira foi ativa militante da resistência a opressão sobre as mulheres, da luta sindical das costureiras e das convicções anarquistas em uma peleia diária e incansável para mudar o mundo com socialismo e liberdade. Sua moção ao Congresso a que nos referimos levava intuitivamente, pelas misérias que padecia como mulher trabalhadora e mulher oprimida, aquela noção tão forte e tão feminista que pronunciou a comunera Louise Michel: “Tomem cuidado com as mulheres quando se cansarem de tudo o que as rodeia e se levantem contra o velho mundo. Hoy 8 de marzo, celebramos y conmemoramos un nuevo día internacional de las mujeres trabajadoras, una de las grandes fechas de la historia contemporánea, escrita en clave femenina, laica, obrera y popular. Esta conmemoración surge del llamado de la Conferencia Internacional de Mujeres Socialistas que en 1910 organizo una protesta unificada por los derechos de las mujeres trabajadoras, sumándose a la rica experiencia de huelgas y movilizaciones de la clase obrera del mundo industrializado a principios del siglo XX. La misma se hace insigne cuando se asocia a la Revolución Rusa de febrero - marzo de 1917 que tuvo a las obreras como grandes iniciadoras de la rebelión contra el hambre, la guerra y el zarismo, y se vuelve una fecha global, cuando sirve para fortalecer las oleadas de protesta de las mujeres por la igualdad civil, económica y cultural, por una vida más plena y libre. read full story / add a comment

Απορρίπτω την ηθικολογική μέθοδο που έχει ως αφετηρία μια δέσμη αξιών (πού μια καλή κοινωνία πρέπει να διαθέτει), ώστε να φτιάξει ένα σχέδιο του πώς θα είναι μια καλή κοινωνία. Αυτή ήταν η κλασική μέθοδος των «ουτοπιστών», όπως επίσης και των συγγραφέων της Parecon (participatory economics) στις μέρες μας. Απορρίπτω επίσης τη μηχανική σύλληψη ενός καπιταλισμού που αλέθει μια νέα κοινωνία, στην οποία δεν υπάρχει χώρος για οραματική συνείδηση. Αυτή η άποψη ήταν κυρίαρχη στον Μαρξισμό (και σε κάποιο βαθμό στη δουλειά του μεγάλου αναρχικού Κροπότκιν). Η απόκλιση ανάμεσα σ’ αυτές τις δύο απόψεις, βασίζεται σε μια θετικιστική απόκλιση ανάμεσα στις αξίες και τα γεγονότα. Δεν δέχομαι αυτή τη διχοτόμηση. Ο αγώνας για τον ελευθεριακό σοσιαλισμό, ο αγώνας για τον Αναρχισμό, βασίζεται ταυτόχρονα σε ηθικές και κοινωνικές δυνάμεις. read full story / add a comment

The question of state government elections and running a Workers or Socialist political party continues to be raised in the working class movement and the Left globally. As we may know, there was excitement about the rise of Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour Party in Britain, left political parties in certain parts of Europe and Latin America and, more recently, certain shifts to more centrist positions in the United States amongst a section of the Democratic Party calling themselves “Democratic Socialists”. In South Africa, many workers and some activists seem cautiously optimistic by NUMSA’s formation of the Socialist Revolutionary Workers Party that will seek to participate in the 2019 general elections. read full story / add a comment
