The joint struggle in Bil'in have never stopped for the last seven years and eight months. It inspired the persistent struggles in Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, and Sheikh Jarrah. Activists of the persistent locals inspired and helped the struggles in additional communities. It was "upgraded" when the higher level comity of the struggling local communities was organized. In addition to support of the local struggles it was also expressed in joint actions like this of the previous week at the 443 high way to Jerusalem which pass through the occupied west bank of Palestine and this week at the Beniamin compound against the settler colonialist Rami levi supermarket. The struggles the anarchists against the wall were never restricted to joint local struggles against the separation fence (Masha, Zabuba, Budrus, Bidu, Bil'in, etc. Nor to other local struggles against the occupations (Beit Omar, Nabi Saleh, Quadum, 443 high way, etc. Nor even restricted to the joint actions together with Palestinian partners. We joined along the years direct actions: of social struggles, of refugees and guest workers, and even activities for the Gheto Gaza people (the last one was solidarity vigils and jail/court solidarity with the crew of Saturday captured ship which tried to overcome the siege of Gaza. The social struggle with in Israel fragmented. Some of the leading activists used the focusing of media on them for jumping on the election wagon. Only minority choose the non parliamentary road. Very few of the activist were educated by their struggle to adopt anti capitalist anti authoritarian road for social struggle. In the occupied territories lot of stress as the settler colonialists get more cooperation by state forces in are C but the threat of the collapse/disintegration of the Palestinian authority force Israel to make concessions no previous struggle and pressure brought about. The joint struggle of the anarchists against the wall has a diminishing momentum but we still go on. The separation fence is no more at the center of attention - both in the efforts of the Israeli state which is using more brutal means for the transfer of the Palestinians from rural areas, and among the Palestinian public which is focused around the survival of the Palestinian authority in the West Bank. The danger of the collapse of the PA has forced Israel to allow more Palestinian workers to enter Israel - half of them with official permits. It also provided some monetary help too. However the efforts to clear rural areas with the help of colonialist settler paramilitaries and terrorists has increased the joint struggles against it - mainly in the South Hebron Mountains. The joint struggle in Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh against the state helped encrouchments by colonial settlers and Qaddum are still worrying the occupation managers who have gradually escalated the efforts to crush them. The ferment and anger increase in the general population of the occupied west bank and Gaza. The already two weeks daily evening stone throwing of the Shabab of Qalandia at the Israeli check post. The economic ferment of unemployed in the west bank forced Israel to admit economic support in fear of the collapse of the Palestinian authority. The more than 50 thousands of Palestinians working daily in Israel are part of this economic compromises. However, the Israeli efforts to transfer out farmers from the agrarian areas of C category intensify with the unofficially help of the settlers. The involvement of the Israeli activists in Nabi Saleh, Beit Ummar and South of Hebron Hills area are the most damaging to this project and the pogrom at Anata-Anatot where state forces personnel who live there participated with immunity was a clear message to the Israeli activists. When the world media is focused on the war mongering of israel directed to Iran, the naZionist settler colonialists efforts directed towards the Palestinian farmers in area C intensify. More suppression efforts are directed to Nabi Saleh and Qaddum who are in the front of the resistance. Other confrontations are a plenty in the South of Hebron Hills where the colonialist settlers are the main attackers and the state forces "only" help them. Lot of house demolitions are a daily phenomena. Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Ma'asara who started the persistent non armed popular struggle against the separation fence and occupation floated to the margin of both suppression and media reporting. There were high hopes at the beginning of the year both about the joint struggle against the occupation, about the social struggle, and about the treatment of guest workers families and the refugees. In all three of them there is a clear setback. Only one village (Qadumm) was added to the persistent weekly demonstrations, and settler colonialists harassments intensify the efforts to transfer villagers fro area C. Most of the activists of last year social struggle were lured to the parliamentary quagmire. Many of the guest worker families with children an lot of refugees were deported. More and more refugees are arrested and taken to the huge concentration camp most of the refugees are supposed to be incarcerated in... In celebration of the anniversary an international gathering was called in St.Imier in mid-August. Sheikh Jarrah, South of Hebron Hills, and within Israel: Haifa regional court, Saharonim concentration camp, and demos against the war mongering. The Israeli state forces have escalated their repression lately. Their main targets are pressure on Palestinian farmers to transfer out of the Jordan valley and the south of Hebron hills, and the joint struggle against settler expansion and Israeli state terror at Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, and Qaddum. Throughout recent weeks there have been demonstrations and vigils against the intended bombing attack by Israel on the nuclear facilities of Iran. A few of them in front of the security compound at Kaplan street, others were mainly in front of the not far away apartment tower where the security minister Barak lives. After years of Friday demos in Bil'in and Saturdays and weekly days demos in other locations I took a break and traveled to the St-Imier international anarchist congress celebrating 140 years of struggle. I presented there three venues: one, the film Bil'in Habibti (Bil'in my love of Shai Polak) with discussion of the struggle in Bil'in, One about the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall initiative, and one about the Anarchist psychotherapy I developed (http://ilan.shalif.com/psychology/content1.htm). Nothing can compare to a week with thousands of anarchists of all trends from all over the world - meeting in person comrades I work with for years. Due to the Ramadan day fasting weeks the joint struggle in the various villages was not as usual. As compensation our comrades were involved in the various demos in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In Jerusalem a pink-black block participated in the gay parade. In Tel Aviv comrades demonstrated on Wednesday the Susia demolition orders at the military radio station. On Saturday comrades participated in the commemoration meeting of the massacre at the gay club three years ago. Not far away, we had the social struggle - Occupy Tel Aviv. In spite of a competition by a reformist split of the movement meeting promoted by media and hired leafleting workers, our march and demo was even better than the three previous Saturday demos of July. Tomorrow, I am on my way to the international anarchist congress in St-Imier Swiss, commemorating the 140 anniversary of the first anarchist congress there. read full story / add a comment

On the background of the Israeli warmongering focused on the Iranian nuclear initiative, Israel intensifies its steps for house demolition and transfer of Palestinians from area C, which is 60% of the occupied West Bank. The Palestinians persist in the Tsumud mode of resistance. Israeli and international activists join whenever they can - mainly in the region of the hills south of Hebron and the Jordan river. Israeli state forces increase their efforts to exclude the internationals but limited by world PR. In spite of the warmongering, the world economic recession, and the hot weather, the social struggle continues in the main cities. The focus of repression of the joint struggle against the occupation and settler colonialist encroaching lands near settlements was a day after day invasion and harassment in the heroic village of Nabi Saleh.
