On February 1968 The antiauthoritarian anticapitalist Matzpen initiated in Jerusalem the first (18 strong) vigil again 1967 occupation. Two years later, the Israeli Black Panthers activist who were in intimate contact with Matzpen members (mostly in Jerusalem) initiated the first social struggle of immigrants from eastern countries. Many of the present social struggle activists regards themselves as successors of the Panthers - many others were in association with or participated in the joint struggle of the anarchists against the wall. The 2013 wave is still much smaller than the 2011 wave of struggle but is more radical and confrontational. The joint popular struggle in the occupied Palestinian west bank is still fluctuating - mainly because the holding back of the Palestinian authority. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

The people who see the turmoil in the region are losing their patience but we are still far from a general uprising both in the Israeli social struggle and in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli State increases its threats against activists on both sides and is contemplating in public to enhance its shooting policy qualitatively. Meanwhile, targeting the young kids they have started to arrest 7/8-year-olds too. The third intifada is gradually escalating from non-violent struggle to still unarmed but a stone-throwing one. The kids are throwing back tear gas canisters and the state forces often get to taste their own medicine. In Israel, the activists in the social struggle are not yet many, but the marching is not just a parade any more and the homes of the relevant ministers get frequent visits. It is still not sure if the masses will participate again as they did two years ago, but it may come sooner than later as the austerity measures are already being felt. This is just the beginning, the struggle is going on.
Revolt is out of time and space. For about 40 hours from Istiklal to Harbiye, from Tarlabasi to Besiktas the freedom of a rebellion is being felt. We come in to Taksim Square from Istiklal, after forty hours of clashes. Law enforcement officers run away with all their vehicles. Forty hours, forty years, the square has been a world for us.
This was the freedom of rebellion, maybe the most frightening slogan was that, this is just the beginning the struggle is going on.
Yes, our struggle is going on till we grow our free world, which we carry in our hearts. read full story / add a comment

The joint struggle started against the separation fence and its specific route which used to robe lands of villages and even to transfer them. The struggles brought some partial victories and promoted the joint struggle of Israeli activists, Palestinian grass root committees and internationals. The local, and more so the international awareness to the struggle against the occupation and the persistent efforts of transfer by Israel succeeded to slow the transfer but had not put end to it... nor to the occupation. The present focus of the joint struggle now is on the efforts to curb the gradual transfer efforts within Israel, area C in the occupied west bank, and the East of Jerusalem, and the international B.D.S. - Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions. Already 65 years since the Nakba and I still remember Deir Yassin and other bits of memories from 9 years before it. It took me too many years to put all of them together and overcome the Zionist and its national socialist (Marxist) brainwashing. For the last 47 years I've enjoyed freedom from Erich Fromm's "Escape From Freedom" and have tried to have the path opened for others. Participation in the joint struggle along with the popular committees is the best road to freedom for Israelis. Thanks to the Palestinian activists of Bil'in, Ni'lin, Ma'sara, Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum and other villages who participate from time to time, with a special thanks to Mas'ha scene of the joint camp that started the joint popular non-armed struggle. The restraining orders regulating the suppression of the non-armed struggles resulting from the involvement of Israelis are being challenged again. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

I still have to encounter a serious critique of capitalist (and anti-capitalist) political economy that stresses the capitalist system's main nature as a huge gambling casino. As most capitalists cannot know in advance if and how much there will be of a market for the products and services they produce and provide and at what price, they are mostly gamblers... read full story / add a comment

The famous scientist Stephen Hawking join academic boycott on Israel and support the B.D.S. The esteblishment lamented that the Wolf Prize in Physics of $100.000 bestowed on him 25 years ago did not buy his support for ever. The panic they developed and efforts they invested to minimize the damage point to the qualitative jump of the B.D.S. to an higher level. It is not the beginning of the end yet, but it is certainly the end of the beginning. The efforts invested in the crawling transfer - both the Bedouins within Israel, the Palestinian villagers in area C, and within occupied east Jerusalem seems to be a desperate moves to bust their dwindling moral. The popular struggle of the third intifada is slowly accumulate momentum in additional villages but it is still a lot of work needed to bring it to a full blooming. The transfer pressure in area C and the 1948 borders Negev intensifies. The colonialist settlers increase their terror, backed by the Israeli state forces. The increased popular struggle intensifies too and rightist calls for harsher repression are becoming louder. Not all those involved with the grassroots popular struggles are happy with the joint struggle together with Israelis, preferring to do without the relative immunity from harsher repression that we provide, and without our contribution for world public opinion. The ferment in the region has already decided that things will not be the same, but only popular struggle and international pressure will channel the changes to the better. The traditional Chinese course: "Have an interesting life" is fulfilled these months in the East of the Mediterranean: The elite in Syria massacre its rebelling people, the Israeli state continue with the cleansing of the Palestinians and have a second neo-liberal front with own people; Turkey just in the north cut the last ropes of the Ottoman empire and Egypt to the south is fermenting more than ever in its long long History. The elites of the European countries of the north who ruled and exploited our region for centuries start to feel and behave in the panic of tiger riders who fear that the ride is nearing its end and the confrontation with the tiger is nearing... And the joint struggle in Arkib, Beit Ummar, Bil'in' Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah, Sheikh Jarah, Silwad, South of Hebron Hills, Susiya, Tel Aviv-Jaffa, continue. It is already 65 years since the official Nacba day and the old memories of sorrow were joined with newer ones. However, the defeat was not complete. The Tsumud - the persistent stand fast still frustrate the effort of the Zionist settler colonialists from completing the "cleansing" of Palestine from the Palestinians. The joint non armed struggle which entered the world public media is on the verge of blocking the continuation of the cleansing project and even rolling it back. Thanks to all the brothers and sisters who participate in the joint struggle and the other popular struggles that gradually develop who keep my soul young in spite of the long way traveled. Special thanks to the people of Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Beit Ummar, Ma'asara, Naby Saleh, and Qaddum who keep the Eternal Flame of struggle and hope. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

The long project of the Zionist settler colonialist transfer of Palestinians accelerate in war times but continue between wars too. Sometimes faster, some time slower. Some time it is focused on one area some times on another... But it never stop. The struggle against it is not even but the Palestinian resistance to transfer: Tsumud - persistence continue all the time. Last 11 years, and more so following the suppression of the second (the armed) Intifada, the third (non armed) Intifada is collecting momentum. It started mainly around the joint struggle with Israelis of the anarchists against the wall initiative which supplied a relative immunity from a prompt bloody suppression. It is now too wide spread for a focal bloody suppression to stop it. Though it is spreading widely last year or so, the joint struggle with Israelis is still a significant part in it. The joint struggle continue persistently with growing popular Palestinian struggle as a new environment. The Obama visit was focused on with another tent camp as a repetition of the Bab El-Shams action. Protesting Obama visit was focused on in other actions. The regular Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Maasara, South West and Southern Hebron Hills, and Sheikh Jarah, there were the Hebron action, the Jaffa vigil in solidarity with the hunger strikers Palestinian administrative prisoners, and a demo in Tel Aviv. As usual, activities of solidarity with and support for Palestinian and international detainees/prisoners of the joint struggles continued. read full story / add a comment

As the third Intifada character is less dramatic than the previous two. At least at the first years, politicians and media commentators hesitating to declare it as such. After more lot of pondering on the subjects in the Israeli media, we heard this evening a new tag: "the signs of Intifada are already here". The escalation of the suppression of the Israeli state forces in the occupied west bank and their backing of settler colonialist terror activities last months, was not clear if it is only pre election thing or is intended to convert the unarmed third Intifada into an armed one. The unarmed Intifada expand gradually with the solidarity with the hunger striking prisoners at its focus. To the older locations of Beit Ummar, Bil'in, Ma'asarah, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qadum, Sheikh Jarah, and South of Hebron Hills, and south-west joined last weeks Jayyus and Jaffa. The terrain is changing beneath our feet. Since the collapse of the majority of the “official communist” regimes, the world has witnessed both events and ideas that have undermined the former dominant thinking within the left. The Zapatistas, Argentina in 2001, South Korean workers movements, Oaxaca in 2006, the struggles around anti-globalization, and Greece’s series of insurrectionary moments have increasingly presented challenges to traditional left answers to movements and organization. In previous eras Marxist-Leninism was the nexus which all currents by default had to respond to either in agreement or critique. Today, increasingly anarchist practices and theory have come to play this role.

As a member of an anarchist political organization, a friend once told me I in fact was practicing democratic centralism. This was perplexing, because the group had no resembling structures, practices, or the associated behaviors of democratic centralism. However, I was told that since we debated, came to common decisions, and acted on that collective democracy, we were in fact democratic centralist. This kind of productive confusion led to questions about the concept, and why the target of democratic centralism has shifted. This move, the shifting conceptual territory of core concepts of a certain orthodoxy, comes up repeatedly not only with democratic centralism, but also surrounding ideas like crisis, dialectics, the State, and class. The resulting cognitive dissonance caused me to investigate attempts at reinvigorating the concept of democratic centralism (democratic centralist revisionism), and understand truly what it is, where it came from, and how it has been practiced. read full story / add a comment
