Istanbul Yenikapi Rally that was realized last Sunday is an important example showing the extent of political mobilization in Turkey, happening in the last month. The rally, which was joined by five million people and the leaders of opposition parties (except HDP), showing "unity of the protectors of democracy", actually had multiple messages targeting both domestic and foreign politics. During the coup process, which can be described as the clashing of power groups inside the state, it looks like president Erdogan and AKP Government managed to talk different political groups into their "politics for coup process". read full story / add a comment

In the crack of dawn on 27th of July, strong police forces carried out a coordinated eviction operation of 3 squatted buildings in Thessaloniki, these are migrants' housing squat "Orfanotrofio", new migrants' housing squat "Huriya" on C. Dill str. and the housing squat on Nikis blvrd. The forces of repression arrested 83 people and 75 of them are accused with "social peace disturbance". In between the arrested, there is one of our comrades, member of the Collective for Social Anarchism "Mavro & Kokkino" ("Black & Red"). "Alcuni possono pensare che Exarchia sia solo un utopico esperimento nel complesso contesto greco. Altri che si tratti di un insignificante caso isolato tendente all’implosione e al fallimento. A me piace pensare che Exarchia possa rappresentare una solida realtà e una alternativa percorribile anche al di fuori della Grecia, per contrastare l’immobilità generale, la rassegnazione completa e l’afasia mista ad apatia che caratterizzano gran parte della popolazione europea colpita dalla crisi. E per dimostrare ancora una volta che la lotta e il cambiamento iniziano nelle strade, nelle piazze, nelle fabbriche, nelle Università, e non delegando a qualcuno il proprio dissenso, illudendosi per l’ennesima volta che le cose possano cambiare e cambieranno in meglio a favore del popolo oppresso attraverso l’elezione del politico di turno." read full story / add a comment

Saturday police in Greece batoned and tear gassed protesters outside one of the migrant detention camps now being run by Syriza. Militant protests both inside and outside the camp resumed last weekend after the suicide of a Pakistani migrant, Nadim Mohammed who had been held for 18 months, released and then returned to the Amygdaleza camp. La victoire de SYRIZA est un événement politique, non seulement pour la Grèce, mais pour l’Europe. Il s’agit d’une avancée importante dans la période que nous traversons. Le positionnement politique d’une fraction importante du salariat et du peuple, fût-il à travers le vote et la politique de délégation, n’est pas rien. Il y a un engagement des classes populaires dans ce processus politique. Ne pas sous-estimer cette expression, ne pas la mépriser est nécessaire. Cela n’enlève rien à la fermeté et à la clarté d’une politique qui opte pour l’autonomie populaire. L’action directe de masse, la prééminence du rapport de force sont premières. On İstiklal Street, around French Consolate, 200 meters far from police, holding the stones of the beach in one hand and the flag of the revolt in the other you are clshing with the police. A piece of cloth wet with talcid is your gas mask, police is spraying pressured water, throwing gas bombs one and after, you are left in the middle of gas retreating throwing stones you are out of breath smothered, breatheless at that moment somebody run near you, spray water with antiacid on your face, asking “how are you, are you okay?” You are not okay but immediately you get well. read full story / add a comment
