In the latest round of attacks on ordinary workers in order to force us to pay for the crisis in capitalism the government had "declared a moratorium on Recruitment and Promotions in the Public Service with effect from 27th March". This is both yet another direct attack on public sector workers and an indirect attack on all workers as it means our access to health, education and other essential services will be further reduced. read full story / add a comment

Onze brandende woede bracht iets positiefs teweeg. read full story / add a comment

Internationalism is at the heart of our politics. We believe in a world without states and artificial borders, where ordinary people determine their own lives, democratically. read full story / add a comment

Liberty & Solidarity supports building of militant rank and file workplace organisations. Unions are strongest when they organise along the whole supply chain, from extraction, to manufacture to distribution. Liberty & Solidarity therefore encourages and supports industry unionism. It is essential for workplace organisation. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

Whilst the workplace is an important departure for class politics, workers are not just workers from 9am to 5pm. Issues such as housing and anti social behaviour cannot be easily tackled through workplace activism, and yet these are some of the issues which people feel most strongly about. These are also issues utilised by the far right in order to stir up hatred and division. Clearly we cannot leave this important area of society unorganised. read full story / add a comment

[English] read full story / add a comment

There is no money left in Ireland. At least that’s what you might think after listening to Brian Cowen, Enda Kenny, IBEC and the parade of capitalist economists and pundits who parrot this nonsense. Yes, we are heading into a deep recession but guess who is expected to pay the cost? [Ελληνικά] read full story / add a comment

[English] read full story / add a comment

The Grassroots Gathering is a twice-yearly coming together of anarchists and libertarian socialists who are active in political groups and campaigns up and down the island of Ireland. The second of 2008's Gatherings was held in Cork on 14th-16th November. The 90 or so attending, combined with the quality of the discussions, left its organisers very pleased with the weekend. It showed that there's a lot of life left in the Grassroots Gathering as a show-case for trends and thinking among Ireland's libertarian left. read full story / add a comment
