It enshrines the rights of every person, of every background, from workers and immigrants to women and homosexuals. All too often across South Africa women are assaulted and abused at the hands of sexist and chauvinist men. If a woman wears long pants, she may be stripped and humiliated; if she wears a mini-skirt she may be assaulted; if she loves another woman she may be raped and/ or murdered; or all of the above just for being a woman. In this country, in which everyone is so proud of their so-called progressive constitution, a woman is not free to be herself unless the image of herself conforms to that narrow-minded image of how a woman should act and behave held by so many bigoted men.

We are happy to finally announce the long-overdue publication of the eighth issue of "Zabalaza - A Journal of Southern African Revolutionary Anarchism". Our organisation having recently undergone some changes, we hope to get back on track and to meet our goals of publishing Zabalaza twice a year. [

No dia 1º de Dezembro, por mútuo acordo de todos os seus membros e após consultas às organizações irmãs WSM (Irlanda), OCL (Chile) e FdCA (Itália), a 'Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Federation' foi substituída por uma nova organização unitária, a 'Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front'. A nova ZACF retém todas as propriedades da anterior federação. A 2 de Dezembro, os membros da nova ZACF levaram a cabo conversações com os nossos camaradas da Suazilândia, com vista a estabelecer uma nova organização unitária neste país. The flag of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola, the MPLA, is red-and-black, apparently adopted from the Cuban July 26 Movement, which itself adopted the colours from the anarchists. João Freire, author of Freedom Fighters: Anarchist Intellectuals, Workers and Soldiers in Portugal's History (Black Rose Books), said: “The only Angolan anarchist I knew was named Câmara Pereira, who joined the nationalist liberation movement of the MPLA in the 1950s, precisely because he was Angolan (black) and he didn’t see any other perspectives [on organising against colonialism] in the African context at that time.” But was there any liberatory content to the MPLA's politics and did Pereira stand a chance boring-from-within a nationalist organisation? read full story / add a comment

Communist Federation si è trasformata in una nuova organizzazione, lo Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front [Fronte Comunista Anarchica Zabalaza]. Questo è avvenuto con il consenso di tutti i militanti della ZACF ed in seguito a consultazioni con il WSM (Irlanda), l'OCL (Cile) e la FdCA (Italia). Il nuovo ZACF conserverà tutte le risorse della vecchia Federazione. Il 2 dicembre, c'è stato un incontro tra i militanti del nuovo ZACF ed i nostri compagni nello Swaziland, al fine di costituire una nuova organizzazione unitaria nel paese. Segue lo Statuto del nuovo Fronte. [

On December 1, by mutual consent of all its members and following consultations with the WSM (Ireland), OCL (Chile) and FdCA (Italy), the Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Federation was replaced by a new, unitary organisation, the Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front. The new ZACF retains all the assets of the former federation. On December 2, the members of the new ZACF held talks with our Swazi comrades with a view to establishing a new unitary organisation in Swaziland. The new Front's constitution follows. [
