Le titre en castillan est : « Lettre de refus des obstructions et interdictions qui frappent actuellement les initiatives sociales et culturelles » Un appel vient d’être rendu public depuis l’intérieur de Cuba. Il émane d’intellectuels et d’universitaires, souvent jeunes, qui se proclament fidèles aux idéaux du socialisme, certains étant relativement connus et reconnus. Il pointe du doigt les contradictions entre ces idéaux émancipateurs du socialisme et la réalité répressive et autoritaire du pouvoir politique de la bureaucratie d’Etat. Peut-être le signe tangible d’une première vraie dissidence de « gauche » ? En tout cas, il viendrait confirmer une tendance à l’œuvre déjà remarquée ces derniers temps dans la grande île caraïbe : la volonté de certains secteurs sociaux et de jeunes, artistes ou non, d’une plus grande autonomie, de pouvoir auto-organiser leurs propres projets, tendance que rejoignent des aspirations visant à transformer profondément le régime socialiste (l’après-Castro) en un sens plus participatif ou autogestionaire. read full story / add a comment

One of the great weaknesses of SA unions - or at least their leaders - is the notion that unions should actively aim at restructuring the economy through policy engagement. This idea is often labelled 'strategic unionism' or 'radical reform', and centres on a politics of cooperating with capital and the state to effectively restructure "South African" industry for global competition.
