The famous scientist Stephen Hawking join academic boycott on Israel and support the B.D.S. The esteblishment lamented that the Wolf Prize in Physics of $100.000 bestowed on him 25 years ago did not buy his support for ever. The panic they developed and efforts they invested to minimize the damage point to the qualitative jump of the B.D.S. to an higher level. It is not the beginning of the end yet, but it is certainly the end of the beginning. The efforts invested in the crawling transfer - both the Bedouins within Israel, the Palestinian villagers in area C, and within occupied east Jerusalem seems to be a desperate moves to bust their dwindling moral. Lo sciopero nazionale nel settore della logistica indetto per il 15 maggio unito alla manifestazione della FIOM di sabato 18 maggio a Roma rappresentano due scadenze importanti nel trito e ridotto panorama sindacale attuale. Mesi di mobilitazione confluiscono in uno sciopero nazionale in un settore in cui la mancanza di regole contrattuali sia normative che salariali riduce il lavoro a uno stato servile e i lavoratori nella quasi totalità migranti a una dipendenza schiavistica legata al ciclo della circolazione a bassissimo costo. read full story / add a comment

Oggi a Bologna si svolge un incontro sulla scorta di un appello, o meglio di una "proposta di lotta" come subito viene chiarito dagli estensori dello stesso, per un movimento anticapitalista e libertario. L'ennesimo appello di una sinistra allo sbando che non sa più a che santo votarsi? Può essere. Ieri anche noi eravamo in piazza Matteotti, come lavoratrici e lavoratori e come militanti comunisti anarchici. Abbiamo ascoltato i discorsi istituzionali con attenzione e in silenzio, abbiamo applaudito alla lettura dei nomi di quei poveri ragazzi. Quando la parola è stata data a monsignor Molinari - delegato arcivescovile per la vita sociale ed il mondo del lavoro - e ci siamo resi conto che i lavoratori non erano in scaletta, abbiamo chiesto che ad essi venisse data la parola: agli unici che davvero avevano pieno diritto di parlare. read full story / add a comment

Universal Unitarian community minister Jason Lydon began his prison justice work as a teenager. At age 20, he served a six-month sentence at a county jail in Georgia and a federal prison in Massachusetts. During the time he was locked up, firsthand experiences with harassment and violence radicalized his attention to the violence of the prison industrial complex, especially as it pertains to LGBT and other marginalized people. Between 2004-2005, Jason founded Black and Pink, a Boston-based organization that describes itself as “an open family of LGBTQ prisoners and ‘free world’ allies who support each other” in their work toward the abolition of the prison industrial complex. Black and Pink’s ongoing projects include a pen-pal project for LGBT prisoners, publishing and distributing a monthly newsletter of stories, poetry, and art by current and former incarcerated LGBT people, and direct advocacy and support for a few select individuals experiencing harassment, sexual violence, lack of access to healthcare, and other forms of mistreatment. Now serving as Director and Lead Organizer at Black and Pink, Jason spoke with The Media about his prison abolition work and the visibility that’s come with Black and Pink’s recent nomination to be the Grand Marshal at Boston Pride 2013. Cresce la pressione degli sgomberi nell'area C e nei confini del 1948 nel Negev. Aumentano le azioni terroristiche dei coloni, spalleggiati dalle forze di stato israeliane. Ma cresce e si intensifica anche la lotta popolare mentre la destra lancia appelli sempre più forti per una più dura repressione. Non tutti coloro impegnati nelle lotte popolari di base sono contenti delle lotte unitarie con gli israeliani, preferendo fare a meno della relativa protezione che noi garantiamo rispetto ad una maggiore repressione, e rinunciando anche al nostro contributo verso l'opinione pubblica mondiale.
